Wouldn't be a great surprise really. It's not doing his cause any good to be second in an admittedly fairly close contest for the Leinster 2 jersey. If he can't get past Strauss at Leinster then why would he for Ireland an outsider might argue. Grenoble would be an interesting move though. It'd essentially put him off the radar of the Irish coaching staff. Now that said, if and when we get a new coaching team hopefully they wont be as dismissive of options playing abroad as the last two have been, so that might be playing on his mind. I'd imagine that it's combination of a chance to see the world, get lots and lots of first team rugby and make quite a bit of dosh.

It's sad to see that it didn't work out for him in France, but I guess sometimes things just aren't a good fit. There's no doubting his quality, even if he has been distinctly off the ball as of late.

It's a shame that this essentially ends any hope he has of picking up European honours.
