Transfers 2015/16

Not quite what I meant...

We desperately need someone though; it's getting silly now; however many international #8s we buy up.
We'll have lost Fa'osiliva, Houston, Mafi, and Northcote-Green; with only Faletau coming in. No-one's quite sure if Sisi is coming back from loan or not.
4 out, 1 in is not good maths.

Nor is having 5 players over the age of 21 to cover 3 positions; especially when 3 of those 5 will be away for the AIs and 2 for the 6N.
We'll still have a god first choice - match-day backrow (Garvey, Louw, Faletau, Denton) but behind that we'll have... Mercer and... erm... straight to the academy for 6th choice (or possibly Sisi, with his massive 300 minutes for LI this season).

OK, so we've got Douglas and Mercer Jr in the academy who both look promising; but we just need more bodies; Underhill would get plenty of game-time in this set up (if we try to get hold of him).

Of course, uncertainty over whether MFord is staying in his job won't be helpful for recruitment - and if he is confirmed, then his inability to rotate won't stand him in good stead....
I'm getting worried about our backrow for September.

Not such a conventional one, but a 25yo GB sprinter/long-jumper is moving into 7's.

From what I can figure out he used to play for LI when he was younger.... I wish him luck!
I think he's doing the rounds on the 7's circuit and doing a bit with Richmond.

For those wondering he's run a 10.6 second 100m!

2 year contract

The report i saw was a ONE year contract with an option for a further year!

Daily Mail.......

"Beale, who has won 60 international caps, is understood to have agreed a one-year contract with the option for a 12-month extension.

While the £750,000 figure quoted for his annual salary has been disputed, it is known that he is the highest earner to have played in the English top flight, eclipsing the £500,000 paid to rugby league convert Sam Burgess."

Isn't 60 caps the limit for an Australian international to play abroad and still be picked?

Nice of Beale to wait so long after reaching the threshold to leave...

Steven Sykes -> Oyonnax
Jacobie Adriaanse -> Bulls
Jacques Potgieter -> Bulls
