Transfers 2015/16

So next season How many English locks will England have to select?

All of the locks.

Post RWC:

LaunchBERRY, Michael Lawes, Attwood, Kruis, Symons, Parling, Itoje. With Slater, Kitchener and others in the wings.

If assume Parling's international career may trail off after the World Cup, as might Attwood's if Lancaster stays in charge. Even so, I think we'll see at least an experiment with one or more of our locks at 6 at some point. Too many prospects to fill three shirts in a 23.

Is this guy likely to get into the England squad ? Even if it is after the World Cup ?

yes, he has been talked about as a potential All Black and has captained his teams in NZ so he's right up there and will fit right in with Lancasters more mobile/skillful pack ethos.

According to the guy on BBC we've got more players coming as well. On Symons him and Skivs are going to be a brutal second row.

Quins confirm Adam Jones for next year.

Strong rumours still persist about Roberts.

Good stuff!

As long as he is cheap should be a good signing.

But he isn't the player he once was.

Fortunately you have someone like Sinckler there as well.

Exeter Chiefs sign Ollie Atkins from Edinburgh adds the power of the second row partnership with Parling.

Lee Blackett signs from Rotherham ***ans to become Wasps new backs coach.

Well there goes the last hopes of Adam coming back to Wales... Lee is touch and go to be fit for the World Cup, so I'm still frustrated that Gatland and co let him go like that

Unless I'm mistaken didn't they just tell Jones that Lee was going to be 1st choice going forwards and that necessarily meant Jones would be on the bench... to which Jones thought "**** that" and retired?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it does seem to me like AJ took himself out of the reckoning.

Nope. They first left him out of the AI squad, taking Lee, Jarvis and Rhodri Jones. They then left him out of the Six Nations squad, despite injury to Rhodri Jones, taking Lee, Jarvis and Scott Andrews. Implication is that Jones is 5th choice. That's when Jones retired.

I think Jones said that keeping fit enough to play the extended club-and-international season is a strain, so if he wasn't going to be picked then there was no reason for him to keep at it. But I think there was clearly an emotional factor too. And fair play, he doesn't really deserve to be behind Andrews. It's quite the snub...

Was that definitely not because Jones told them he wasn't bothered about being on the bench?

They said they didn't see him as a bench option and that Lee was first choice, but he could come back into the squad as a starter if Lee was injured. He would have likely started against Scotland and Italy if he hadn't retired, but it seems he was hurt and humiliated at being omitted behind players of Jarvis and Andrews calibre and packed his bags.

It actually is really poor man management from Gatland. AJ is no doubt past his best now, but the tighthead options are sparse in Wales so to lose one of the few competent scrummaging tightheads before a World Cup is a blow. He could have just put 4 tightheads in the squad, or put AJ there and called up Andrews if there was an injury.

Now either party won't take a backward step, and Lee has a long term injury and the team is heading into a World Cup with the worst scrummaging tightheads of any major nation.

Eamonn Sheridan--> Oyonaxx
Good luck to him served us well over the last couple of seasons however was a bit of a one trick pony. Now it looks like Waldouck could start next season we are also being linked with Tom Casson who I don't rate and De Allende who is class so please let it be him also Darren cave has been mentioned.

The likelyhood of Waldouck playing more than 3 games in a year is slim-to-none, though.
