Transfers 2014/15

TH's are well known to be the highest paid players in rugby.
With looseheads and goal-kickers/FH's following not too far behind.

Well as I said I know it more so that case but was just pointing out case in France and it rare you hear crazy money for forwards. In UK and Ireland I know it that way.

....I'd pick Delon over Leigh at 15 if I had a goalkicker elsewhere in the side....

yep, ditto.

Congrats on the 18k btw, your reputation ***le should now be something like "Kratos' pimp" or "architect of the oval realm"... "Eats Grand Slams with some nuts when he's bored". "the god the All-Blacks pray to when performing the haka"....OR, or - "should really, really try going out more often" :p

I have an incredibly boring job and a phone with an internet connection :p
Also back in the day I used to make the match threads for all of the matches in Aviva, Rabo, Heineken, Amlin and Super Rugby, back when we had a thread for every game rather than every round, and that certainly adds up over a season.

Fullback isn't exactly the most influential position in the team, especially the way that Halfpenny plays as a safety first defensive fullback. His goal kicking is what even gets him near that list.

Completely irrelevant, but he should be. The impact of a full-back's positioning and kicking when it comes to field position is huge and they are the player with the most attacking opportunities in a lot of ways in between counter-attacking and freedom to enter the line.

Sam Parry confirmed to Ospreys, four year deal.
I think we are betting on Elliott Dee stepping up after TRT. Wonder if they will keep Gus at hooker, thought Lyn threw it out the window. Not sure what happened to Sollis after his accident a year ago.

Not a bad signing, obviously keeping Hibbard would have been ideal but Parry has had reports of showing decent promise. More potential than Baldwin to be honest. Odd for the Dragons to let him go though, I'm not quite getting what Lyn is trying to do with his squad at the minute. How much of the prop budget has he wasted on Byrne and Brew? And why did he let a useful cheap versatility back in Dan Evans go?

Because he is Lyn?
Board are aware of the prop issue, problem is price. Maybe we can tempt Rhodri Jones with Lee stepping up? Not the best prop, but better than what we have. I'd rather Harries and Evans than Brew and Byrne if it meant a better tight five. Our backs are not wholly ****. Tovey has been good, Amos and Dixon promising, Pewtner/Wardle stepping up. I will be surprised if Byrne plays both years on his contract. Lyn sees Amos as an FB, but I disagree. Prydie has a better boot from what I've seen, keep him there.

Evans was even decent at standoff, wish Steff would step it up, taken him longer than I thought. Robling suffered injuries frequently. Backline of Rees, Tovey, Brew, Dixon, Wardle, Prydie, Amos; Evans/Jones (Luc), Jones (Steffan), Byrne seems likely. Wish we managed to secure Sam Lewis. Backrow of Evans, Lewis, Faletau isn't bad; Ieuan off the bench... Hill and Screech good signings though, TRT as well.

Craig Mitchell was available. Front 5 should have been priority, sort that out then see what you have left to add to Prydie/Amos/Evans in the back three. Dragons will probably be signing props on loose change now.

Did you hear Lyn tried to sign Ryan by the way? Might have been a good signing to have at 6.

Sam Warburton, Cardiff Blues --> WRU

Will be leased back to the Blues. Wonder what will happen if the regions do decide to break away from the union.

Well, if rumours are to be believed, Stankovich is headed our way. Not sure how much Mitchell wanted, Blues probably have more to offer contract-wise. I heard the rumours about Ryan, didn't know if it was mixed up with the Bristol thing. He is solid, but suffers more injuries each season. Evans is also a good club player. Dump Talei and Groves... Should have tied down Jones and Benjamin for now, maybe Matthews in a few years.

Tom Court, Ulster --> London Irish.

It seem Irish are actually starting to earn at least part of their name again.

Daniel Evans confirmed to Ospreys. Glad we were able to mature a few players for them...

Agreed with Peat your months behind but to add in they have 3 Irish starters there already in O'Leary Humphreys and Sheridan. And well Court while being an Irish international is Australian
