Transfers 2014/15

Yeah, believe the highest paid (either Sexton or Habana) is around 500-550k - so hes "only" 20-70k short.
I imagine that's pocket change when youre taking home tens of thousands a month.

Oh right I though Sexton was rumoured to be on (as quoted somewhere) Stg£45k which is Stg£540k per year which is â'¬660k roughly.
Crazy how the backs get mad money yet forwards are the more important hard workers like and should be valued more

munstermuffin is quite correct. He is not earning top whack. Hook is earning the same as he is. He is not near the top 10 paid players in the list even.

Like my point was at this stage as current IRB player of year and other various awards as well as his performances the past year surely his value must be higher. I didn't mean he was on poor money originally but thought he'd get more

Yeah honestly, I mean Toulon had, what, Delon Armittage at fullback ? Drew Mitchell occasionally ?? That's not nearly big enough names...get Halfpenny for now, very good. Toulon are too humble a team, not a whole lot going for them, it's only natural they at least insure the penalty kicking duties when Jonny's gone...

....I'd pick Delon over Leigh at 15 if I had a goalkicker elsewhere in the side....

Olyys weekly reminder that he doesn't love Leigh Halfpenny, almost late.
We know, you'd pick Cueto if you really could.

Fullback isn't exactly the most influential position in the team, especially the way that Halfpenny plays as a safety first defensive fullback. His goal kicking is what even gets him near that list.

Armatige and halfpenny and Mitchell can all play wing, maybe that's what they plan?

Edit: forgot which club we were talking about, they probably have 10 international wingers as well

Actually only Habana, David Smith, Rudi Wulf, Alexis Pallison and Drew Mitchell

ALUN WYN JONES HAS RE-SIGNED!!!

To put this in terms a Toulon supporter may understand, this is the equivelent of signing Dan Carter, David Pocock, Kieran Read, Jonathan Spratt and either of the other players they don't already have on their books in one afternoon.

That's for the superstars. In average, the best paid position in the Top 14 (or at least it was a couple of years ago when I read this article) was tighthead prop, followed by loosehead prop. For a couple of seasons, Carl Hayman was the highest-paid player in the world.

Palisson is leaving (rumor says to Stade français)

(edit: I tried to edit this message into the previous post, but I can't delete this one, so I let it go. Sorry admins...)

Well as it should be. Tight heads are a rare breed and deserving of good wage

I was backing your point up and agree.

If that at me I know you were just was stating as in your list 4/10 are forwards with only 2 being front rowers. Just I thinks it's madness having a winger as a top paid guy or more so being so much higher than pack

Afoa will be the highest paid player in England next season on £400k (€486k) - rumours that Sarries have offered Adam Jones £300k as well.

I, too, have heard that good props are paid handsomely - I think Toulon distort this a bit as they're more about signing the big names that the general public are more likely to know (with the exception of Hayman, that is), which tend to be backs.
