Transfers 2014/15

Great to see him returning to Wales. He has had a horrendous run of injuries since his move, could do with some match time in Wales if he has an eye on 2015. Wish he got off the M4 a bit earlier. That being said rumours are that we have a prop headed our way too.

Did the Blues sign a young number 8 from Dragons to replace Copeland with?

It'll be hard to replace him. Can't wait for him to come here and fully believe if he maintains his current standard he will be Ireland's 8 at RWC. Still can't believe Delve wasn't made a priority to get back to Wales especially Cardiff or Ospreys

I can't wait to see him playing in a Munster jersey. Coughlan is playing at a good level but he's a bit old now and Copeland is a perfect replacement. He will push Heaslip too and gives us much better depth at Number 8. We were looking very light there 6 months ago but Copeland and Murphy have really created more depth

Not really. Jones is a more physical player and only 20. Another Gwent 8...

I hope you are right Draggs because Copeland has been immense all year and really will take an international standard player to match. He's quick on his feet, good handling and always gets over the gain line. I think whats been most impressive is that he is doing it very consistently.

The fact that Ieuan couldn't break into the Dragons team at 6 hasn't filled me with optimism, but I'm looking forward to seeing him play.

Well I can understand it's not him being poor that's stopping him being 8 for Dragons but Toby but as you say he has a lot of time on his side. But Copeland has been 1 of best 8's in HEC this year and that's saying a lot considering he was playing in a struggling side

Ieuan Jones looks very promising, probably good for his development to go to the Blues instead of being behind Faletau at the Dragons. I think he'll fit in well, and partly solves another of the Blues' problem positions.

If the Blues can retain Warburton and Halfpenny, and keep a relatively injury free squad (especially regarding Warburton, Patchell, Allen and Owen Williams), then they should be much more competitive next season imo. I've been critical of Phil Davies, but he looks to be settling in now, and beginning to turn things round. He's made some good signings and has brought Macintosh into the backroom staff. It's quite a young squad in areas (first choice midfield in particular), so it may take a little more time, but I'm more optimistic for next season than I was last year.

When he played last year he was very good for a 19 year old. The fact that Lyn Jones is our coach should give you some idea why he isn't playing.
Talei is useless, so is Groves. Cut both of them and keep Jones.

Have to agree regards Macintosh. But Blues are rebuilding but they always have talent just fact they've had to rebuild so much at once is their problem. If they can keep Halfpenny and I think they'll keep Warburton but they've to try keep him on the pitch is the vital bit

Murphy and Copeland are both talented players. However they are currently the two most overrated Irish players neither will seriously push Heaslip.

I'd disagree about Copeland. Maybe he will be poor when he comes but in fairness at moment for Cardiff he's been awesome

Bradley Davies --> Wasps

Been confirmed privately, he's been house hunting in SW London.

From the Waspies boards:

"Just spoke to Bradley Davies in Richmond Starbucks - said he's house hunting ahead of his summer move to Wasps (in case there was any doubt)"

"Asked Davies if Rhys Priestland is going to follow him, he said: 'He changes his mind every week!' @RugbyWasps @thewaspsblog" Nik Simon @Nik_Simon88

I don't think Murphy is over rated I think everyone sees that he has the potential to reach the level of Heaslip with some time but I do't think anyone really overrates him just are aware of his potential. Not seen much of Copeland other than the game where Cardiff beat Toulon and I'll say he he was very good that day.

No he is hugely overrated people saying we'll be grand if Heaslip goes because we have him, which is just plain wrong. He's hugely raw and 8 especially as an 8 since he's a six. His MotM performance vs Ulster was excellent in terms of ball carrying etc. but his control at the base was horrible.

Auterac was a few years below me at my school.
My abiding memory of him was that he always had a protien shaker in his hand.
All day... errday.

Good to see Bath sticking with the "young and English" theme.

As someone pointed out on the Bath forum, we have nice age spread in both Prop positions.
