some ppl feel that way, but I disagree. I see where you're coming from, but he's an accomplished 10 who does everything required for the position. He's complete. And he brings a bit of that attacking, running SH style too. But he does lack a bit of that little extra, and is a bit bland/flat at times. But you can't be a very good team with a bad 10, and Clermont couldn't have made it to that level with a nonetheless fine 10.

I really hope Lopez gets some minutes though next year. Haven't seen him at all this year and he deserves a chance for a big year. He's more complete and developed than Jules Plisson, and a much better bet at this time for France.

funny coz by next season, if Lopez plays significant minutes in Clermont he and Parra would make a formidable HB pairing which could turn out to be the xv de France's as well - while on the other hand, if we do poach little Rory Kockott, he and Castres teammate Rémy Talès could form our 9-10 combination too.

well, he isn't ! but the only justifications I can find:
- Top 14 and foreigners are costing the xv de France, might as well reap some form of benefit.
- Any nation would do it. Any. It's just human to cheat in sports.

well I don't know about "brilliant", but I do know for a fact he can be shhit.
No I don't recall...and I couldn't tell you if he was good or bad that game, the entire team was just so frustrating to watch.

His kicking was all over the place and one of the mian reasons Clermont couldn't get any field position. He just completely folded.

James sounds like a certain mr Cooper. Maybe it's a trait/tendency of Aussie 10's as they wouldn't be used to facing a very aggressive defence or tight games as Aus rugby (where these guys develop) tends to be much looser.

well Brock James is way different from Cooper though. Aussies are way better off with Quade.
And yes goodnumber10 I remember James kicking it back constantly and aimlessly at the Sarries now d'I think about it...giving the ball back with no strategy whatsoever.

everybody thought he'd go there, I'd already set my mind to it. I could see Wilko teaching him behind the scenes, him playing for the best club in Europe and all that......nope, turns out he's goin to Clermont.
I guess as of right now they're slipping Giteau to 10, or Michalak...maybe Armitage to center (probably wing actually) ?? since Halfpenny's got the 15 jersey.

They should put Halfpenny on the wing, Armitage is a better fullback.
Wonder if Toulon might look at picking Hook up on the cheap? Giteau will probably be their first choice 10, but having a player like hook around to cover centre and 10 would be useful.
