Tottenham Riots

Apparently it's all kicking off in Enfield now - police cars and shops getting theirs windows smashed

Just saw some d**khead getting mashed up by a police dog on Sky News - lovely stuff

Lewisham and Hackney tonight
Couple of buildings on fire, another bus, apparently they're throwing petrol bombs at a petrol station........if Grand Theft Auto taught me anything it's that that's a bad idea!

Peckham too now - set something on fire (house or shop, can't tell anymore) but it's an inferno now and is in the middle of a massive terrace

Rubber bullets, water cannon, tear gas - Just throw everything at them

Yesterday they were showing police vans arriving and people throwing bricks at them and the riot police were literally about 10m from them doing nothing - should've just whacked one of the chavs, that'd soon stop them

I presume what's stopping the Police retaliating is the fact that they might injure someone badly and the idiot they injure will sue and gain a massive compo deal over it, sadly this is the society we live in.

Exactly the reason why they don't do anything. It's the same in Northern Ireland. If a police officer gets hurts it's done 'in the line of their job', where as if a member of the riot gets injured then they can sue the ass of the police and it is believed to be excessive force used. IMO the police should be able to beat the living **** out of the rioters because they are attempting to hurt police officers and the police should be allowed to defend themselves.

A fella on my facebook summed it up for me:
''The youth of the middle east rise up for basic freedoms. The youth of London rise up for a HD ready 42" Plama TV...Perspective''

Large gangs of "youths" gathering in Birmingham city centre as well

BBC - 1956:
Back in Birmingham, reports suggest people are smashing windows on a street between the Bullring Shopping Centre and the West Midlands Police HQ.

Really disgusting how people are using the death of a young man (whatever happened, mistake by the police or not) as an excuse to smash, burn and loot. Seriously, wtf has a shooting in London got to do with smashing up shops in the Bullring?

Channel 4 news had a bloke on accusing the police of protecting the west end and the 'posh' parts over the pooer parts of London.

Sword cavalry, tear gas, water cannon & the old fashioned lead weighted truncheons for starters followed by a free for all for the armed police for the main.

Dessert will be left for the dogs.

This is getting beyond a joke now - full on kicked off in Birmingham city centre and spreading to other areas around B'ham as well
Kicking off in Leeds and apparently someone's been shot in Leeds

Really need to either crack out the rubber bullets or get the army in or something - having riot police stand in lines on some streets is doing bugger all
