The Ulster Thread

I'd consider that really important with Olding injured for the season, eases an over reliance on Marshall, who will need rest this season. Think I saw a hint he might keep playing after the end of this season too...

Other news on injury is that Paddy Wallace is back too. Not that important now as we have marshall but its good to know he is still alive

PW is a quality player to have back. Is Chris Farrell getting any chance to play lately?

Great news for ulster and Ireland, not that I think anyone doubted he would stay.

Just over 6 minutes gone and already Alain Rolland has gone to the TMO twice. Make a f'n decision on your own!

10-0 to Ulster against Munster. Jackson and Payne have started brilliantly.

EDIT- 13-0 to Ulster now. Ulster are dominating this. Jackson has been very good, bringing the outside backs into play. He's improved so much since last season but needs to add consistency. He should be a class player in 12-24 months.

Keatley is having a 'mare for Munster.

Trimble should have given it to Marshall once the defender had been checked. Munster are an average team.

edit. Cave in for a briiilliant try. Literally gave it a slow clap. Impressive.

Watching replay of Ulster v Munster as watched Ospreys v Scarlets last night. Skill level much higher. Prospect of Irish provinces being frozen out of of Rabo terrible. What are IRFU saying in all this?

The thought of Fez turning Owen Farrell to mush in April gives me goosebumps!

Ha bottom of Div 1B .... What you got?

Just a machine and B&I Lion ha :)

Seriously him playing at that standard could actually cause someone to be killed.

Unfortunately it could also lead to some "hard" lad causing further damage to Ferris because he wanted to brag to his mates about taking him down.

True but BG8 if a fella who is at 1B can do that it'd be a blessing as it'll save him from worst pain should it happen in Ulster shirt because been honest he has a weak spot and I believe every opponent will target there until it's fully proven he's back

That's a huge loss for Ulster. Their tight five has taking a major beating with this news on top of Tom Court and John Afoa's departures.

Do they try to bring someone in or do they shift Iain Henderson into the second row?

TBH I'd be happy enough with Henderson in there, he's only going to get better and better and we are pretty well off with back row options at the minute. I do think the he is a more natural flanker but has plenty of time to adapt - it will also be better for his Ireland chances.

A bigger miss will be the leadership Muller brings to the pack. At times this year he has been very noticable in his absence. The likes of Best and Wilson will really need to step up.
