SuperRugby: Highlanders v Bulls. 19/05/2012

The bulls need a bonus point if they want to stay on top an have a chance in the play-offs. I think the bulls can steal the cup from right under the other teams noses if they can secure the top spot and have the home game advantage. But I am afraid, if they can't, I don't see them beating someone in an away final this year, not in their current form. Still love them though.

I think it's reached the point where, unless a top team is knocked out by a lower placed local competitor in the semis, the top team will take it because home advantage is so huge when comparing NZ and SA teams. So as long as the Bulls come top and don't have to face the Stormers, they should take the competition - which means it's probably actually better to have as few competitors from your own conference in the playoffs as possible!

lol, Adam Thompson overides the coach. Sends Crosswell off.

Great win by the Highlanders, didn't think they could win this one.
Bulls look awful in pink

Awful Awful Game!! Morne Steyn in his 100th Super Rugby game was poor... No everyone was poor!

We disrupted them throughout the 1st half and then just went into idle mode the 2nd half... Johan Sadie still not up to standard... And the best guy on the pitch only played the first half, Dewald Potgieter.

The Bold part is exactly the reason why!!
So my fingers is typing faster than my brain could process? Thank ms. Coetzee she was my typing teacher.

Dunno if anyone notice but the Super Rugby comp is a conference system. So patriotism goes right out the door. SA teams winning or losing will have a effect and influence on the team I am supporting. Thats it. Don't give a crap who beats who where in the other conference. So no I will never support the Bulls. Its nothing against the supporters I just don't like them. Like supporting Everton when they are playing and you are a Liverpool supporter. Just ain't goin to happen.

Sorry to disappoint you but I'm not that person.

No no, Icemn does not have enough brain cells to write two coherent fully understandable sentences. Probably because of all that tik he is smoking.

Nah I can't smoke what I sell. Its bad for business....

Poor rugby by the bulls. I still love them but I hope they learn from their many mistakes for the chiefs. I fear that we are without decent 6/7 after dewald and stander being injured. I hope the bulls find some magic somewhere, we need it.

The ref was poor and half blind but he is not the reason we lost. He penalized the HLDRs for a knock on that came off a bulls boot, and a lost backward by the HLDRs calls a knock by bulls. But such is life, hope we get a better ref next time.

Bulls tried too hard to defend and totally forgot that they need possession to score tries. Although the HLDRs lacked their usual flair, and never looked dangerous, but the bulls gave them the game on a platter. /rant

Just scratch out who's injured but you got a huge squad.

close one, was that Hore that got the last steal? I think that saved the game.

apparently it was Scott Fuglistaller....never heard of him, any info? from wellington apparently but of all the names that were going as looie cover dont think i saw his nae come up once....and then he's in the squad

great technique with the tackle and steal though

Yeah he is from Wellington (Taranaki originally I think), has played a couple of seasons (without ever locking down a starting role) for the Lions. Must have been in a wider training group. He would have been in the Wellington academy and then the Lions when Joseph was in charge so that's how he would know him as a player.

not in our wider training group...we moved past the wider training group due to injuries in about round four! Hale T pole and Boys were supposed to have come in to cover the loosies. Boys started, but haven't seen t pole anywhere but in the paper.

a bit of research suggests Fuglistaller is/was in the Canes Wider training group...maybe we grabbed him last week when we played them like we grabbed Burliegh in preseason when we played the chiefs

WATCH OUT! if you're in our oppositions wider training group you better be a highlanders supporter as you'll prob be given a tracksuit!</SPAN>
