The top SuperRugby teams?

You should check out the chiefs, finalist in 2009, 11th in 2010 and now as consistent as the weather forecast. They did have some major injuries and umaga :) this season, so hopefully they can add some victories to their season in the coming weeks.

Lol what was the final score again? 100 - 0 or something?

I think it was 61-17 or something like that. The Chiefs managed to score, but that Steyn geezer kicked 23 points against us.

Amobokoboko I was going to ask whether you chose the Belgium flag because it sort of had the Chiefs colours haha, but then I realised you probably do actually live in belgium.

Seriously though I like the Chiefs, though I don't know if thats more because I like to cheer on underdogs( no offense intended! but in a few recent games they were probably underdogs).

At least last weekend the gab was smaller and we dominated the first half.
Next year ce could try to win the game.

Yup, it's pure coincidence

Oh and also, Blues are better than Sharks until the latter can prove otherwise!

Agreed, Sharks are a good side but the Blues have a far better Super Rugby record.
Top sides at the moment:

Crusaders
Stormers
Reds
Blues

Note: Sharks had home ground advantage so this is not a good indicator. Consistency and records speak for themselves.
Blues have played the Sharks 20 times in Super Rugga. Blues tip the scale marginally in their favour with 10 wins, 9 losses and 1 draw.

They do also brag a far better record overall in Super Rugby reaching the playoffs 4 times and winning 3 Super Rugby trophies.
Sharks have only ever made the playoffs without any success!

Top teams:

Crusaders
Stormers
Blues
Reds
are the form teams

Waratahs
Bulls
Sharks
Highlanders
are also top teams while the Brumbies and Hurricanes have fallen off the pace and I include the Highlanders with reluctance; they have been a bottom of the barrel team for a number of years now but have really taken that step up this year much like the Reds did last year. The rest simply make up the number IMO even though the Chiefs might have a decent counter-argument I admit.

Crusaders
Most successful and always up there with a shot. Currently in red hot form (even though they aren't top of the log). Great squad with a number of superstars playing a very attack minded game but a very well rounded side that can win the ugly way as well.
Stormers
My team (I live in the Cape). Can be a very frustrating side to support as we have masses of talent in the Cape but our structures never backed our youth. Have not won the domestic Currie Cup in an age as well but we've been playing some very consistant rugby since end 2009. Best defense in the tournament but at times we focus too much on a hardnosed defense to win which means we don't get a lot of bonus points. Most of our tries we score through counter-attacking off of our solid defense. If you can appreciate that it might be the team for you as we have a few iconic players as well but I appreciate that the Stormers can be a bit of an aquired taste LOL.
Blues
Most entertaining team IMO (Reds play at a faster pace but Blues more entertaining). They have a host of All-Blacks but never seemed to make the play-offs in recent years due to serious inconsistency. They were the top team in Super rugby way back though and have found their feet again it seems after a great run at it this year so far. Might be a frustrting team to support due to inconsistency but it hasn't held them back this season so maybe a goo shout.
Reds
They had a great squad way bakc when but were bottom feeders for years up until 2010 when they came from nowhere. They didn't make the play-offs last year (just) but their attack orientated play and blistering pace certainly won over some fans. They are doing better this year and are topping the Aussie conference as real contenders.
Waratahs
A solid squad that has been there or there abouts for some time now. Just not enough x-factor for me and a bit inconsistent this year. Not the kind of team you support if you don't live in the region IMO.
Bulls
Most successful team in recent years having won in 2007,9 and 10. The team is possibly getting a bit old though like the Springboks and aren't on top of their game. Play a very kicking orientated game but the rules and their bad form, especially in defense and at the line-out mean they are currently off the pace. A tough team to support when not on top form.
Sharks
Probably the most balanced SA team and have flattered to make a break-through in super rugby but never quite made it. had a mixed bag so fa this year but are placed well with most of their tough games behind them and playing at home from now on. A monster pack and quality out wide their only weakness IMO is in the mid-field (playing players out of position IMO; no real centres) and decision-making (inexperience at 9/10). They have a young squad with a few old heads and will do good in years to come IMO.
Highlanders
Are having a great season off of the back of a couple of years of losing close games. Forward orientated they seem to have some firepower in the back now as well.

Personally my 2nd team is the Cheetahs but I wouldn't suggest supporting them as it is massively frustrating to watch the opposition runners go through them like turnstiles. Horrific defense but a fun team to watch with a small handful of great players actualy, other quarter is solid even if half the squad is mediocre.

The Cheetahs bring nice rugby and are good to watch especially last weekend's game.

Yeh but its difficult to keep upbeat when they lose 2 out of every 3 games in Super rugby. And close for the most part is even more heartbreaking. They actually started to get a decent squad together and then lost all their players again for this season. Guess I can't complain too much seeing as the Stormers regularly pinch a couple of players off of the Cheetahs as well LOL. At the moment we have CJ vander Linde and Duane Vermeulen who started out at the Cheetahs. Don't look at the Shakrs though LOL, literally half their bloody squad originated in Cheetahs country!!

Cheetahs need to take a page out of the Lions' book and get some billionaire to through some money at overseas based players or even a few foreigners. Bloemfontein isn't as big as Jo'Burg or as nice as Cape Town but its the friendliest of our cities and the safest crime-wise. Brilliant weather although it gets a bit too cold in winter for my tastes; decent enough place to make a living.
