Super Rugby: Rebels vs. Chiefs in Melbourne (03/05/2013)

Leonard has a good pass, the problem is he passes without looking too often. He gets it away from the breakdown super quick, but needs to slow it down a bit and have a quick look while passing to increase the accuracy. Don't know why the coaches haven't said something to him... It never used to be a problem, two years ago or so. It's definitely crept into his game an awful lot now. Really frustrating.

Had Leonard been an inch taller (i.e. the height of a normal person) that would've been a try for the Chiefs, instead they're back under the sticks.

Great reach from Pyle to get the try.

I wish isky.co.nz had alternative commentary. I'd listen to Hindi commentary sooner than I'd listen to the native one we're getting now.....

*VOMIT*

Try Pyle now - great stretch by him!

Bit of a try-fest here....

Ironic when an Aussie is praising an openside flanker "doing their job". I had the impression Aussies thought McCaw was using a cheatcode....

I like the brand of rugby the rebels play, they have a crack. Fortunately for them the chiefs have been sucked into it too.

Chiefs defence has been so average the last few games.

This game reminds me a bit of the Kings one, though the Chiefs are defending worse.

I reckon the Chiefs are really missing Kerr-Barlow at halfback, as he is not only a very strong defender, but he puts a lot of pressure on the opposition halfback (meaning the other team struggled to get clean ball).

The Chiefs will be happy to be ahead at halftime, but they haven't been that convincing.

Yep, he should be back next week! Leonard's really not all that useful anymore, sadly. He was one of my favourite players, and had he been more fortunate with injuries he could've been an All Black for a lot longer.

5 minutes of scrums eventually pays off with a simple try for Cane.

Beale obviously hasn't been practicing kick-offs in his time off....

Cane is the most similar flanker in NZ to McCaw, no doubt. He's not a genuine fetcher, like Gill or Pocock, but he's very good at what he does. He'd actually be fine at six too.

But yeah, similar look to McCaw, hair's a bit blonder though.

lol that steal wasn't legal for the Chiefs. :p

^Yeah Gill or Pocock have better balance./ I think Cane actually gets to breakdowns nearly as well as those two. Just needs to be better with the technical fetching stuff. McCaw in his prime though....

That ball back to Beale was forward. Even ever slgihtly.

EDIT: Lol yep a mile forward. But obviously the commentators gonna call that one as backwards as an owl's head.

EDIT2: wow. ok. Close game this. Chiegfs defence very average. If that ball was flat then the queen must by my auntie.

Another forward pass........... How much are the Rebels paying the TMO?

Geez does the tmo have money on the rebels or something? Two massive forward passes. Kearnsy "that was flat" haha classic, such an idiot.

Surely, I must not be the only one outside of "STRAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" that find the Yellow (yess YELLOW - it ain't gold fellas ;)) and green commentators nauseating?
