Suggestions/ideas for Rugby 2012

Games Engine - Madden '11 or previous game engine to this game

If star players must exist Ben Foden for line breaking, Chris Ashton for his attack prowess (he follows in behind every attacking player which is some intense fitness levels) and a few other out and out performers from all competitions.

The NFL style camera mode, aka end to end, is perfect as you can spot the gaps, its kinda like a flowing set piece, basically you can see that nfl has come from rugby with this angle working perfectly.

everyone has pretty much covered the rest soo well I need not mention any more!

Use a decent physics engine. It would be great if every tackle and breakdown was different, instead of set animations for tackles etc. £££ though

Regarding stats...I agree with ranger. However there needs to be a squad update every other week to compensate for player's form. E.g. Stephen Myler for Northampton Saints would be about 74-76? If he has a good string of games this could increase by +5 MAX. Vice versa. Allowing the user to edit player stats would be the easiest option. There also needs to be an accurate growth system + youth academy for young, upcoming players. This doesn't mean every player will start at 54 and grow to 99. A few players may peak at around 89-93 for example, but the majority should peak anywhere inbetween 65-85.

Currently you can view stats like 'Most Tries Scored' or 'Biggest Win' which I like.

It would be amazing if there could be stats like 'Tackle Count', 'Meters Made', 'Line-Outs Won' both in Matches and Overall throughout the game.

It would be nice to have all the teams with there logos and everything and all the players...all my ideas are the same as everyone...control the ruck/maul, make turnovers easier, online play etc...

I think that a nice addition would be 7s...You know kinda of like Fifa 97 with indoor football...something to make it stand out....you wouldn't have to do much altering to the game...just 7 players on the pitch and a whole lot of sprinting!

The only thing I really want aside from stable Online play is a "Be a Pro" mode, like the other EA Sports Franchises. I always seem to enjoy those game-modes more than regular season play...

its about time we got "update # 2" from HB Studios now, regarding the questions posed or developement... we NEED it!!!

Another feature i'd like in the post game wrap up is a Man of the Match award. But it can't just be determined by who scores the most points, cause then the kicker or the outside backs would always win it, it should also be based on meters gained, tackles made/broken, try assists etc.

Good call! I think a Man of the Match Award would work well. Maybe the Award could occasionally go to a player on the losing team if that team has the stand out player of that match to mix things up a bit!

I like the MOTM in Fifa, it goes to the player with the most completed passes/runs, least 'turnovers' best positioning etc. so doesn't necessarily go to the highers goal scorer/winning team player

Yeah totally agree. MOTM, though purely aesthetic adds a nice touch when it is done well such as in Fifa.

man o match would be good, is there any way of incorporating a video highlights of the mom's "best bits", like in a few other games? eg big hits, any tries, lineout steals etc

all these features sound great, like improved stats such as rucks and mauls, turnovers, linebreaks etc. it would be great if each of the teams played with the style that is stereotypical of them. e.g. auckland blues throw the ball around, bulls strong structured game with mauling, box kicks, and lineouts, qld reds unpredictable and run it from their end. so that you have to use different tactics for each side which may also make you change your pack depending on if you need to play an expansive game or a tight structured game. would also be good to come up against a dominant pack with an inexperienced pack and their set piece dominates. personalisation would be great with players like frans steyn being able to kick 50m drop goals when you kick a dropout to him (south africa vs australia 08?), the quade cooper step, sivivatu's footwork etc. it would also be good if backs didn't necessarily have to be fast to be good, because in rugby 08 you would just pick a fast backline, players that are good in real life but not so quick should be able to bust tackles or simply make the advantage line more than quick smaller ones e.g. nonu, tindal, mortlock (maybe not so much anymore). a final thing would be to be able to press a button and have forwards running off the fly half so you can shift your play a bit wider against a good pack, or press the button again to set up a pick and drive. maybe this can be done similar to choosing a backline move by pressing one of the directional buttons.
well thats my two cents anyway, can't wait for the game to be released!!
