Suggestions/ideas for Rugby 2012

some sort of create a set piece tool like the one in fifa e.g create own backs moves ,and lineout options

*mauls as an attacking option
*graphics improvement
* if possible, play as 1 player on field like fifa career mode or even just create a player who's stats change as he plays.
* add video ref for close tries.
*more control, fend off, side step, kicking.
*improvement on the rules, choice of options scrum or penalty in certain situations.
*improve ai or just make sure it's online.

Really looking forward to this game, if I could only change one thing it would be to make it online playable. Big thankyou to HB studios for deciding to make another rugby game.

Also I dont like all this bad mouthing about katalau, berti, heffler, gonzales etc... I feel like I know those guys, and yes, heffler may be infuriating at times, given the fact that he plays like a retarded 6 year old child, and gonzales may be a fat idiot who cant scrummage to save his life, but come onnnn, they're awesome! Damm's a legend! How many tries has Nawali scored for you! Probably not many but so what!

Theres so many young up-and-comers in the game that i would rather play with than these made up fools. By the time you have enough money to buy them you mayaswell just buy established players. God i hate those made up players! they suck so hard and you have to play with them for an entire season. I want real players!

he absolutely did, but i like that, it made the game more difficult, it is so easy that I (like so many people) have completed the world league with only using the original players and not buying any pro's (the trick is to put berti at 10 and keep him away from tackles), I have literally defended for entire games, rushing on wilko just hoping to injure him so he will stop those 90 metre punts, its so boring just thumping another team by 70 points, not conceding a score for seasons at a time. Zwicker captained my useless team for years! You know Crossland was a hero in the lineout!

If the game is harder, fine, do away with them, if its easy again, keep them please, or at least just keep katalau, that big, slow, cant tackle for sh*t knock-on legend

Youre missing the point..

I want the players in the team to be ****. I would just rather the **** players were real, i dont see the point of making all these 1000s of players and getting licences for all these teams and then in what i believe to be the best mode in the game we have to use ridiculous made up players year after year.

Wouldnt you rather have some actual real life romainian and georgian internationals for your tight 5? and what about a guy like jamie lennard instead of that australian prick who plays fullback. You could have young future internationals, guys that are only 19. I think it would be siick.

Yes that sounds good, I certainly like the idea of real players, ive just grown rather attached to those useless bunch of morons, but if they can get a load of real players and keep it cheap in terms of licences go for it, as long as they are as infuriatingly crap as the old stalwarts.

ive gone through many a playstation controller after throwing them at a wall in a fit of fury, after gonzales loses the ball forwards in a tackle for the 3rd time in a row, or good old sawyer so reliably missed another tackle. I'll miss those moments.

Sin Bin Control

I would like to control who goes to the position when a player is sent off i.e. a Mike Phillips is Sent Off and you can choose to play Shane Williams there.
It is not realistic when a Fly Half is Sent Off that the players knock the ball on and there is a massive gap down the middle at Restarts.
When a Prop is Sent Off you should be able to choose a player from the Back Row to leave and bring on a new Prop for the Scrums.

can the scrum halves actually do something in the game as well please, eg more than just pass and the occasional box kick, I used to play john smit there in 04 because it made absolutely no difference and I needed the leadership, in 08 it matters only that the person is a scrum half, their stats or abilities dont account for much, as in its not really any better to have gregan (as was) than paul hodgson.

lets see the SH's really matter and have more freedom than currently, as in they can slot into the backline if needs be and if they have an ability in defence or attack.

I think the controls for the scrumhalf in RL3 are good, and something similar should be implemented for 2012,
In RL3 you either press pass left or right to pass left or right, or if you move the joystick to run, the scrum half runs that way, it's much more fluid than the press-a-button-to-run in 08 and it lets you exploit gaps better, as you control where the SH runs rather than them running in a set animation

I used to shove O'Driscoll in halfback, because he had the pace to do a sniping run, it proved to be the best choice I ever made with rugby 08, I think on average he was getting 4-5 tries per game, although I went from using backs to the English 10 man rugby, using the forwards, sucking in players then going with O'Driscoll on a weak side.

Rucking mechanic idea number 1.
A system where players are given stats ranging from 1-100 in rucking and turnovers (which would be extremely biased towards giving known poachers high stats and a low base stat for everyone else) and depending on players involved in the ruck the probability will point to either retained possession or a turnover.

When blocking the ball in a ruck (pushing R3) not having penalty every time, and not having yellow card depending on the referee and the championship. Same thing for the high tackles and collapsing mauls. Sorry for my english...

2nd suggestion:authentic trophies for tournaments
