South Africa vs British & Irish Lions - Test 1

Have been surprised by the Springbok forward dominance at this stage in the game. Dominating the rucks and scrums are looking super solid as well.

"A maul occurs when the ball carrier is held by one or more opponents and one or more of the ball carrier's team mates holds on (binds) as well (a maul therefore needs a minimum of three players). The ball must be off the ground."

According to this yes
If that's the only definition being followed today I hope its consistent.

Boring enough game so far. Would disagree Saffas have had the edge in the scrum. They're immediately scrumming in because they can't take the pressure. SA generally on top though

Well ref there wasn't consistent, own player had clearly bound so Daly should't have had to release when knees hit floor?

Shouldn't have been called back for scrum, was knock on advantage only not a penalty.

Is it still a penalty if the ball carrier has released the ball and it's the 9 not letting go?
