Very strange calls. Billy Holland and Dillane dropped for Roux.

Rory Scannell dropped.
Also no Carberry, Bealham and Conway has got back in

The squad is only for the France game, it's possible some of the players not involved aren't in Schmidt's plans for the game (well duh) and he thinks they're better off getting gametime.

Roux also makes a lot of sense for France in particular as one of the few proper tighthead locks in the country and being very physical.

Yea as there week break after again. Possible too he's settled on Ryan Toner and Henderson so instead of Holland and Dillane carrying tackle bags leave them prepare for provincial gamrs which are very important. Presumably Carberry Scannell and others are same. In thoughts vs France I'd be worried if Roux an option.

No fears as Murray is going to be ok just got text. But yeah it seems Duncan is ahead of Cooney which suprised me. To be fair he's actually playing great rugby and suited to Rassies style but not good enough for Ireland.

Most probably agree with that but Schmidt see Payne as key at 13 for defensive leadership

Without Trimble on one wing I'd want Payne, best defensive 13 in rugby. Rinrose isn't a terrible guy to bring on in the centre or even at wing either.
