Stats often have little to do with anything. Good players with lesser teams usually always beat the useless to average with the top team. Alot go Aussie and Storm on RLL, the two best teams, yet that doesn't mean they automatically win by any means. I've knocked both off heaps with worse teams. I can't understand why anyone would want normalised stats who is half decent at sports games. I want to be able to knock off the ABs/Wallabies with club teams that are statistically worse or atleast try to. It's such a bad move it almost puts me off going online at all with this game, whats the point? Could have atleast made it that if the host chooses a club team the other player must choose a club team also or something similar.
 
Question, nobody seems to have said anything about this over on Sidhe seeing that I doubt NZers are overly bothered about it: Is there an unlicensed Heineken Cup in the game? Would be a bit gutted if it wasn't and I could only play the Blues through the Pro12. They've got all the teams licensed for it so there's no reason why they can't make an unlicensed one.
If it isn't, I'll obviously have to make it, guessing there'd be no chance of editing franchise so my created competition is there?
 
hasnt the hineken cup been renamed to the rabodirect something or other which is in the game?

anyway, I have been playing tihs pretty much non stop for a couple of days and here are my quick thoughts (while I am waiting to watch the canterbury game)

I have done all the tutorial, which has helped me understand what is going on, and since I am used to the rugby 08/RWC game it was very useful.

I am likeing the compititions, graphics etc, but there are little things that are annoying me with the game...

the constant off loads... wtf is with that, just about every tackle you can do an offload, or you can break the first tackle just very unrealistic.

catching of the ball, every pass that happens there jsut seams to be a split second where it freezes or the player freezes as he catches the ball.

bugs... i had one when i tackled someone and the ball decided to jump around for a bit, i thought the player lost the ball, dont know what happened other than he broke through the tackle and scored.

also found if you choose the wrong kicker at the start of a game (i for eg selected woodcock) and you make him take a kick, then change it straight away, you get a free shot at goal, i did this a couple of times.

There are other things as well but I am going to watch the canterbury game now and ill try post more before the all blacks game.

Been reading SIDHE forums, and seems like a lot of NH guys are going APES!!T over most of the ratings. Now i dont know the ins and outs but all i know is Adam Jones is rated somewhere in the 60's?????? A little weird thing is that the welsh RABO 12 sides are all between 62 and 69 (Dragons 62, Ospreys 69) whereas the unlicensed welsh side is 80. I know that the welsh side is made up of fictional players, but surely the "fictional against real" would be similar in some way??? In saying that I have not played the game, so I couldn't tell you the individual player stats, but surely if a side is 80 overall then majority of players would be around the 80 mark, likewise with the rabo12 players :S :S Probs licensing issues etc but still :p :p Adam Jones 60 something!!!!! Having a laugh!

To add to that the Aviva and top14 is in the same boat, underrated compared to SH, as the majority of raitings are the same as ITM teams where a few super rugby teams are in the mid to high 70's, here's the full list of team raitings if you havent seen em. Haha yeah it just seems BOD is rated insanly high so we dont notice that the rest of the top 10 or w/e are all SH xD but yeah the raitings appear to be from the end of the 2009/10 season which still doesnt explain adam's stupidly low raiting..
 
Be interesting to know what the ratings of Ben Alexander, Franks, Afoa and Mas compare that to Adam Jones.
 
Thank god you can change the player ratingsb because some of that is ridiculous. Leinster 72? Favourite was Treviso 64, Ulster 60!!!!!

Last year:

Treviso 9 - 19 Ulster
Ulster 32 - 13 Treviso

Not to mention respective league positions.
I'm sure it would not have been a budget breaker to hire a a few guys to take care of the European ratings accurately rather than that shite.

Yes we all know that SH Rugby is generally at a "higher" standard to NH but some could argue that the gap is a little high (saying that its all personal opinion of course).

Saying that its obvious there would be some bias towards "licensed teams" because.. well.... their licensed. I'll be very intrigued to see comparisons between players ratings.

Most notably ratings of Wingers. As I said in my previous post, I'd like to see Shane's "poor" ratings (To quote some SIDHE members). As long as his speed, agility acceleration and anything Side stepping related is relatively high, then I'll be happy.

Also, is the ORANGE ONE in game??? If so with who, cause i may have to draft him back to the ospreys come UK release (at least thats what I hear anyways ;) )
 
Henson might still be in the Ospreys squad already, since the squads are from the start of 2010/11, wasn't he technically still at the 'Sprays even even if he wasn't playing

The low rating for shane I think is due to him not being 85+:/ As for the higher standard, yes it is but the best teams up here will still be able to compete with super rugby teams where Sidhe's ratings the Blues for example are only slightly better than the Lions but worse than the rebels etc.

As for Henson I'm not sure he might be dunno what team xD could be at 3 xD

All the props have shockingly low ratings. There is no scrummaging attribute or anything so they are effectively rated at how well they can play in the backs.. Its a **** poor way of doing things imo but i dont think its intentionally anti NH.
 
Remember the players aren't real. I assume that are expecting us to add the real players in there or change them anyway. So I guess thats why they didn't focus on the ratings as much. Adam Ashley Cooper 92!!! having a laugh! matt Giteau 91, ahah yeah right! They are defo not the 2 best wallabies atm. Sonny bill better than Ma'a Nonu, I dont think so. WTF is stephen hoiles doing in there! They aren't the greatest ratings but the great thing is they can be tweaked. Bit **** about the props, they can have the biggest influence in games eg. a rampaging andy sheridan!

I gotcha, That's a hell of a shame. Props are more than just scrums and line outs these days, and they don't get the credit they deserve :( :( Also SH should be better than NH no doubt, the debate for everyone is by how much (same applies with FIFA and PES etc of course :p)

Yer noticed that about the squad's for Pro 12 also. Means the Ospreys will actually have a side :p :p

With the real players being drafted in, I presume the overall rating will change also. Which i presume will mean Wales won't be 80 no longer :p ah well :D I'll still beat my friends ;) ;)

Will be nice to eventually play this to have a different approach to video game rugby (not necessarily superior though, but i guess i'll be the judge of that ;) )

Umm the players are real, the NH club comps are all fully licenced, international teams aint but you can tell who they are based off the first letter of each name and suposidly iirc someone said for O'Driscoll the fake player on the Ireland team looks close to the licenced version. (from what people have said)

What I do find funny is France, Wales and Argentina all being rated 80 xD
