Scotland v Portugal - 16/10/2024 - (15.10)

I was thinking about this and for me, saying Portugal get something out of this is clutching at straws. They won't benefit from being walloped once every 1-3 years by a tier 1 side. They need to be given regular opportunities or it just becomes a farce to remind us how big the gap is.

Dont get that, rule out a try in favour of a penalty?

Exactly. Get them playing A sides every year and everyone wins

Let A sides/uncapped senior teams play in the European championship, everyone wins, bu tier 2 would never go for it.

Plus this is pretty much a Scotland A side so its not really like Scotland are running out Finn or anything, if the game is to grow even A sides will be uncompetitive for ta fair few years. Only other option is to do nothing no have rugby as a small footprint game.

Assumed so. Didn't see a forward pass and he ended up in touch after grounding in the corner.
I noticed a number of tries where the player orientation his body in the over the touch line and fits in the corner. I'm not quite sure why, unless it's to protect a tackle coming in where the tackler is then tackling someone off the pitch.

Would be interested in what people actually want for the growth of the game tbh, This might not have an A next to it but it is very much scotlands 2nd/3rd team.

Georgia and Portugal are a level above the competition they are allowed to play regularly, so not really developing at that level and stuck in this middle ground, only way to get better it to play better teams regularly, but then when they do they will get thumped so you have people saying 'what is the point' …

Would personally like to see the tier one u20's play the European championship but politics says that doesn't happen.

👍👍

I like this referee tbh - confident in his decisions but willing to go to his TJs for help/confirmation

We need more tier 2 refs at the top level
