Scotland v Ireland

Not than ****** off really. Weakest team left play, see how Sex is coming off the bench with Stringer. I bet he will be class, having seen where the gaps are from the side and whatnot.

It is clear though that outside the 10 jersey he has no interest in rotating the team which is ******* stupid.

I don't have a problem with the team itself, but the fact that he is refusing to give gametime to squad players makes me very, very worried.

Oh great, Ronan O'Tosspot. A baffling selection. We're playing a team that's more physical than us up front, right? Surely the sensible thing to do would be to try and use our more talented backs to keep their pack moving? Oh no, we're going to play an outhalf who has no running game, can't tackle and has worse distribution skills than our form 10. We'll also put a scrum half with a terrible pass in to make sure we receive no quick ball and play a 12 who can't seem to keep hold of the ball. Expect the outside backs to see zero ball. We're going to be dragged into an ugly, boring forward slog and be beaten by experiance.

Scotland by 3.

o'gara for sexton. :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

It's odd because Scotland seemed to have picked their team to play a running game, and Ireland the opposite

ROG has been playing better the Sexton lately so I don't know what all the fuss is about.

There's nothing odd about it. Kidney has been a very successful coach but he's done so by getting his teams to play vomit inducing rugby. His Munster teams were boring, his Leinster team was boring and his Ireland team is boring. Kick the corners, maul incessently, don't take risks and take 3 points at every opportunity. It's great when you're winning but bloody tedious when you're losing and playing badly. Ireland need an injection of fresh ideas. Kidney's record makes him the right choice as head coach but for God sake, get rid of Alan Gaffney as backs coach.

It'll be nice to see o gara not have a perfect game because he hasn't spent 60 minutes analysing itand sexton not getting attacked by clueless tom mcguirk. Bizarre call dropping McFadden but keeping Earls I thought McFadden has been one of Irelands better players over the last 2 matches and thank God Tomas O'I cant pass a ball'Leary is gone even if it is only through injury.

El Oh El.

Does this mean Ulster get Pastor Trimble back for the weekend? I suspect the answer may be no given Tommy Seymour mysteriously vanishing from the Ravens team but would love it to be yes.

Kidney deserves to lose this one.

Would've had Lamont/Evans in the centres, with Danielli on the wing,

Totally agree with this. The above aside this is by far my favourite selection of the tournament so far.

The pack Robinson has selected is definitely for me our best one. I wonder how our backs will be running of Jackson, particularly Lamont and Evans (I expect to see Lamont at 12, Evans at 13 and Danielli on the wing at some point in this match)

This could have just made things a little interesting.

I'd love to know where this 'O'gara is playing better' talk is coming from. Sexton was the form 10 in Ireland before the six nations and played well against bth Italy and France. ROG got to make an easy drop at goal and nearly butchered a try in the corner against the French. Hardly spectacular.

That's the Scotland team we should've seen from the start! These injuries could be a bit of a blessing in disguise but then again Scotland haven't exactly been easy to predict thus far! Great to see Lamont getting a start, same with Jackson - this running game could be exactly the shake up the squad needs. I'd love to see a Lamont/Evans centre partnership become permanent

Seen the squad and I think it is definitely a better team than last week. Firstly, the return of Beattie to the killer B's. Richie Gray returns, and Euan Murray, who despite his reputation has not been impressive in the scrum, is replaced by Low. Another change is Ruaridh Jackson in for Parks, who has not been lighting up the pitch like last year. This should give some attacking accuracy. Sean Lamont is starting. Consistently Scotland's best ball carrier and possibly their best player in the tournament so far. Finally, Patterson returns which will mix things up a bit.

Despite all this I still think we will lose to the Irish.

Lads I think Sexton is a better player than ROG but ROG is experienced. He made the difference in the last 2 games when he came on. You can argue that he didn't do anything amazing but its the little things he does well like making the right decision. The drop goal in front of the posts wasn't as straight forward as its made out to be. He'd a split second to catch it, take aim and score. I've seen them missed believe it or not!

This will be a very interesting match. Scotland hasn't been in top form to say the least but really, neither has Ireland. Scotland should be better, and yes when it's at Murrayfield, Ireland has trouble, but Irelan probably isn't too happy about that loss. Ireland win a narrow one by 7 or less.

Positive selection from Scotland at last. Looking forward to this game.

Kul nickname!

Lads if ROG is a bad selection then let him screw it up and THEN attack.
Like I think it baffling Stringer not starting but will wait until Reddan screws up first.
Personally I think we have Earls and Bowe who are both lethal finishers when they get a sniff and a Stringer/Sexton partnership will get ball out fast but let's just see how we go. I'd also have Boss ahead of Reddan.
I think McFadden is unlucky not to make the bench but can see why he lost out on selection.
It's not the worst team but I just worry because we never seem to find it too easy in Murrayfield anyway

Might be an attempt for Kidney to gain a small lead with O'Gara on the field, then release Sexton and Stringer onto a tiring Scotland side in the final 30 minutes. Remember Scotland are missing three of their main starters which helps Ireland's cause. I truely expect Sexton and Stringer to come on between 50-55 minutes of the game; same with Cullen (but that might be a long shot).
