I don't know I'm torn myself about Talès. He's DEFINITELY not as attack-minded as I like my French no. 10, and he can't kick penalties. He also has some work to do with his in-game kicking. In the last November tests, we tended to return the ball aimlessly to the opposition in stead of putting pressure with the boot.
Now in terms of qualities, he's quite tall and solid physically, is one of those modern strong-defense flyhalves, and is good with his passing and other fundamental 10 skills. Also, despite having few int'l caps yet, he's 29 and has a lot of experience playing the game, and his gathered style and maturity shows in specific stretches.
I'm very hopeful Plisson does well and becomes our 10 in time for the 2015 RWC. We'll see this coming 6N, and you'll be able to judge yourself when France comes to Murrayfield.
