Salary Cap Investigations

There's a big difference between a test clashing with a club final and Sarries telling their players not to turn up to international duty.
Not really, club faces relegation bit more important than a international.

If the club gets relegated it wint get the money from tv rights so it's best players will be poached so there is a chance they won't ever get back up

Yes they do, every club has to release players for the international windows.

Sure there's some dodgy deals to force players to retire from internationals, but if a club fully blocks their players they'll be in the **** from the PRL and World Rugby - unless you're expecting Itoje/Farrell/the Vunipolas etc. to retire from international rugby until Sarries are allowed to cheat again?
Yup can imagine what will happen if they are not allowed to partake in 6 nations by Saracens. I imagine "**** you I'm going to play anyway" will be along the lines.

Saracens have to convince these players to take reduced salaries telling them to make 'principled stand' when England is their key to immortal glory, post playing careers and sweet sweet endorsement deals.

Yeah Sarries don't have any cards except the legal one.

Irrelevant.
One is allowed by the laws of the game, the other is not. Maybe the players will take themselves out of contention, that's on them, but the club categorically cannot block them from playing international rugby during the international window.

Nah International is more important for most players mate.

If the club was really that important why overpay their players to get them to stay?

Like Sarries fans crying about how they have saved english rugby with their academy, bish please what are players like Skelton, Burger, Williams got to do with English rugby.

So they lose the points so for this season they are allowed to play above the cap and dont have to realease players? So the team has an unfair advantage in europe yet are allowed to play for the european ***le with no punishment?

Where are the sarries fans at? Love to hear your opinions.

Ok so you loose the saracens from the premiership and break up the team, how detrimental is that going to be on the England squad? No locks playing together regularly no prop and hooker playing regularly??

Also without saracens in the league that's no English clubs in any of the European finals.

I think the fine is right but the points deduction along with the international players only being allowed to play 7 matches this year is just b.s. premier league didn't have the balls to relegated them but made it impossible to stay up.

The PRL knows that international players ask for higher wages, why aren't they subsidised like in wales and Ireland?

Tenner says saracens go down, they get poached by all the other teams and we wont see them again in the premiership. Oh and all there fans wont be seen in a rugby ground bar Twickenham.... it's a nice way to kill off a club and a academy that's produced alot of England players...

Also why isn't anyone investigating bristol bears they've signed alot of high end players..

I think it's wrong that they can be allowed to bring in 2 England Internationals and an Irish international SH whilst under investigation..

Jeez.

That's absolutely fine as long as any transgressions by other clubs are also treated harshly.

Particularly sh*t week for Sarries England contingent. And a massive shame for the game in general.

Apart from qualifying for the tournament illegally I agree. It'll be interesting to see if the epcr have anything to say about this.
That's ummmm complicated, do the EPCR set the qualification criteria or are they determined by the RFU?

If the EPCR set the rules ie top x places of y competition then they broke EPCR rules as they illegally qualified for that position.

If the EPCR just give the RFU x places to hand out as they deem fit they won't of broken any EPCR rules. As they'll just declare it an official RFU nominated team and its the RFU to deal with punishment for breaking its rules to gain one of those places.

Reality is its muddier than those two clear cut examples I imagine EPCR will want to see this an internal RFU matter.

Yeah the EPCR will ignore it for sure. The logistics of changing pools, seeding and competitors as well as adding a fifth star to Leinster's jersey just seems too much!

I don't think Sarries have to have a massive fire sale, they can keep their England players providing they move on Williams, Maitland, Skelton, Koch etc, most in that list are moving on in a year or two anyway so offer them an early release and fill the squad with players coming through plus your exceptional England players, still be one of the best squads in the league...

They've been buying internationals as back up for years, what would have been wrong with keeping Nathan Earle and passing on Williams, much cheaper and you've still got potentially a great player..

Impossible to stay up?
They would've finished 10th last season with 35pts knocked off.

All the other stuff is irrelevant because:
They. Cheated.

Seen talk that Quins and Bath are both under investigation for investing in players private companies. Looking into it a bit more i think it might just be salty Sarries fans and hoping past indiscretions by Quins/Wasps get punished more harshly now.
