Looks decent. Saffers are you happy? Any contentious omissions?

I'm pretty happy with that squad, good to see the "Beast" back!

Frans Steyn could be the only surprise omission, but all & all a very strong squad with youth and experience!

After the last few games I am satisfied with Januaries inclusion, no issues with that
As for Frans Steyn, I still feel that his omission is part of a plan to force him to return 'home'

We've discussed Chilliboy enough, not happy, but with Smit around he won't be playing that much anyway

p.s. I am unhappy as a Sharks supporter, I would hate to see Kanko and Beast sitting on the bench (if they make the bench), they are both youngish and it would be better for them to be playing week in week out in the Currie Cup, helping the Sharks on there way to glory B)

Yeah you can't really complain with that squad. Guys like Beast and Kankowski have been giving a life line by PdV, they simply have to step up here. Personally I'm surprised to see Butch James there.

We could harp on about the ridiculous inclusion of Chilliboy and not Tiaan Liebenberg, but I'm sure you lot have heard enough about that by now.

Nope I'm pretty happy with the team, no major complaints.

I'm mostly happy but the ommission of Gary Botha, Sarel Pretorious and Frans Steyn can't be ignored. The fact that Zane Kirchner is still Bok fullback disgusts me. That's my least favourite selection. Otherwise it's fairly decent.

The Beast sucks man!

Seriously?!?! You have to be joking rugbywriter.

Surely that squad is a bit on the small side? Only 5 backrow forwards and 3 back three players seems a bit thin.

I think that's enough, considering that Russouw is also an emergency back row option and De Villiers has already shown today that he sees JDV as a wing option, as well as having Frans Hougaard in the squad. That's 4 proper back 3 options, and JDV for emergencies.

Great squad but it could have been even stronger. I am concerned at what PDV is doing within the squad.
He is playing stronger players out of position to accomodate his favoured players (Zane Kirchner i.so Frans Steyn, Juan De Jogn i.s.o JDV & Januarie i.s.o Ruan Piennar or Duvenage).
Now all those players mentioned ARE GOOD players but they are not the best. I just hope PdV plays the best player in the best position? If he does South Africa will win the Tri Nations no doubt!

Also, would have like to have seen Duan Vermuelen get a call up as a back up to Pierre Spies. I love Kankow but he is too light as an 8th man at Test level!

Go to the ANC blocks Beast thread. I explain it in detail why he sucks

I would just like to do a summary, so as to not be confused
In you opinion, is this how it is.

Beast= Shite
Jannie= Shite
Bismarck= Crap
Smit= Kak
Hargreaves= Useless
Pienaar= Shite
Jacobs= Shite
J.P.= Crap
Ndungane= Shite
Terblanche= Overrated

Stormers (whom were beaten by the Sharks)= Gods
Bulls= Gods
Cheetahs= Not Gods but better than the Sharks

Is all that right?

Mostly right except Terblanche. I love him, he just had a bad season. And I don't know where you keep getting this Cheetahs stuff from? And it's funny how you mention the fact that the Sharks beat the Stormers aas if thismakes them better, even though the Sharks finished 9th and the Stormers finished 2nd. But yeah, the rest of it spot on.

BTW, did you read my explanation of why Beast sucks in the ANC blocks Beast thread?

I'm interested in how PdV is gonna use Hougaard. He's a naturally gifted rugby player, definitely has his wits about him. Really like the look of him on the wing tbh, he's electric. Adds something different compared to the other wingers in SA.

True dat! I also prefer him at wing then at scrumhalf. He has much more ability to break tackles and make stuff happen. I'd rather have him or van den Heever then Aplon

I shall take the advice one of the posters posted in regards to arguing with an idiot
