[RWC2023] New Zealand vs Namibia (15/09/2023)

I don't like getting shots of the Namibian coaching box… Seeing Proudfoot and Coetzee together brings flashbacks of dark South African times.

I'm all for including the Tier 2 nations more but at what point does it become a genuine safety hazard? The Namibian bodies just are not used to these impacts and scrums.
We've seen these injuries in champions cup but I think you have a point as the game gets more professionalized. The gap between the tier 2s who play professional or professional like rugby and Namibia is only increasing to grow. Namibia is currently in the current cup second tier which is probably varsity cup level? @saulan is that about right?

Didn't even see if but must have been horrendous

I think you have to look at Africa 2 for sure. USA would get absolutely dicked in this but it'd be full time professionals playing at least.

Some of these offloads are just disrespectful
Launch one into the stands or something

They've often had a team playing in the Challenge Cup, but haven't had one recently. There are other teams from Zimbabwe and Kenya playing in the Currie Cup first division, but Namibia don't have a team there. The Currie Cup premier divisionfeatures the URC sides (but usually the second string teams as it often is run simultaneously with the URC) to give you a sense of how much lower quality those teams are.

I'm taking a look at these players now quick to see what teams they play for. But I suspect Currie Cup Premier/first division focused

I know the opposition isn't the best to judge against but Leicester should replace Beauden in the ABs first choice side IMO. Especially once Jordie is back as a second playmaker.

I'm seeing Currie Cup Premier Division, French Pro D2 (quite a few), MLR and RESC. So not great.
