[RWC2019][Quarter-Final 4] Japan vs. South Africa (20/10/2019)

Japan are actually very well equipped to score tries against SA our current system of defense involves rushing up and smothering the options our winger usually comes up quick to cut out the last pass from the 13. When it works it's fantastic but when it doesn't and the opposition passes quick enough or has an offloading 13 (like Lafaele is) it often seems like the winger is unmarked. There are many examples of this in recent times.
I predict Japan will score some tries tomorrow courtesy of Fukuoko and Matsushima.

Where Japan might lose is there inability to deal with our strong set piece. If I were a gambling man I'd put money on Malcom Marx and Mbonambi to score a couple tries tomorrow from mauls.

In the end Japan will score a few tries but our set piece dominance will be too much.

Looks at the current rankings, Japan right where they are supposed to be, not the surprise package most make them out to be, well deserved

It is now a source of inspiration, this is 2019
Embrace the challenge
Add some tequila to that early morning sourness ;)

Let me give you a friendly reminder of this...

If anyone says they're confident of a win today, they're telling lies.

That match was 4 years ago. It doesn't have any bearing on today. Ireland beat NZ last year and got poesed yesterday. Different team. Different coach, different mindset, different confidence. Japan's hype train is going at 320kmph. Doesn't mean a wall won't stop it...

I was thinking something stronger, skip the worry, wake up and watch the game knowing that we've beat them and into a semi-final.

Reckon this is pretty spot on.

You can expect SA's wingers to be too much to handle after about 55 minutes too. Japan were flagging out wide against Scotland in that period and the Scots didn't have the same level of pace.

I will avoid the use of the word "Disappointed" and just say I will be surprised if the gap is less than 50 at the end.
