[RWC2019][Quarter-Final 1] England vs. Australia (19/10/2019)

Cant really blame the ref for the scrum when neither team can stay up for two seconds under any circumstances, that's not on him.

Latu and Hooper on Vunipola, definitely a penalty and was missed, yellow is a stretch in my opinion.
Yup, definitely less cardible than Slade's cynical penalty on the 5.

Garces has been to form, poor and erratic. The Daly holding on call and the Lealifano rolling away one show he's blowing quickly when a good picture is given, Mako's jackal was more effective but didn't look as sexy so he didn't get the call.

Well you can when one of the players had a history of collapsing scrums yet seems to keep getting away with it. Every game sio is in with tough scrums he collapsed them.

Oh **** off, was a good low tackle then tipped over as fell on top of him, there was no lifting motion At all

I personally agree it wasn't a tip as you said. I think it was a no arms tackle though. There was no clear attempt to wrap and instead just had his arms forward and his tackle arm was the one that didn't follow round.

Prior conduct is a bad reasoning to start penalizing. You could say that they should know from prior film that he tends to scrum illegally a certain way and they should be looking for it, but you can't penalize him for past offenses.

I do think garces gave up on enforcing early engagement and it has negatively impacted the scrums.

We all know that would have been reviewed in the pool stages, from about 4 angles multiple times.

That was George rolling into the 9, Slade was fine (Poite even went to him after to say he was onside and the penalty wasn't against him).

Though I do agree that George was lucky not to get carded - can only presume they gave him the benefit of the doubt (he rolled away and diagonally towards the tryline, away from the ball, but Genia was coming back from beyond the ruck so he ended up rolling into him)

England hasnt conceded a try before the 70th minute so far this tournement. Hope that stat holds.

Slade with intercept and try assist and a few good tackles but couple of dropped balls and little mistakes, hopfully he settles into the game qs he hasnt had much game time.

8 points up isnt ssfe but its a start i just hope all this defending doesnt make us drop off.

Got to say I'm surprised to be fair.

But it balances out, I think England were lucky with the second try, Itoje should've been penalised for taking the 9 in the buildup

Sound. Thought Slade was offside, should have presumed he wasn't given Genia's snail's pace today!

If your tackle causes a player to land head first, it's a penalty at least. It's been that way since the 2005 Lions tour. You can severity and red and yellow but it's not a good tackle.
