Well as Russia came to New Plymouth 6 months ago and are based there along with alot of feel good articles in the local media ..Can see the locals backing the russians by a county mile

Not at all mate, thats how it should be done. I did overlook one thing though, its easier and more pleasing to drunkenly yell "U-S-A" than "Russia" or its derivatives, so USA get the benefit of crowd noise

The game so far has been decent without being a cracker. USA look on top and you feel their experience will tell by the end. The try they scored was good, almost Welsh-like

The only problem they had with the lineout was that they just kept jumping 2. It was too predictable to read.

Todd Clever should have been binned. At least (if not a direct red). And I say that as an Eagles fan.

That said, it was a scrappy match. Honestly, I could understand someone holding a neutral perspective that it would have been an extremely boring match along the lines of Scotland vs. Georgia yesterday. However, having an emotional interest in one of the teams, I was captivated by its tension throughout. I nearly cried at full time (though it ended on kind of an anticlimatic note).

Happy that the USA have won their third match ever at the World Cup.

Russia played well and got a deserved bonus-point. The only disappointing point is their shirts are all-red, not national flag's tricolour.

It was a frustrating match to watch alright but the condiitions didn't help. The Russians lacked a bit of experience and a decent 10 to win the game.

USA were deserved winners overall. The Russians will get stronger but they lost to the NG Dragons by about 30pts in a warm up game so it was always going to be tough especially fo a team who like to run with the ball.
