RWC: Wallabies - United States (23-09-2011, 20:30)

He played a good advantage for the 3rd aus try that went the length of the field.

Is it just me that thinks Quade Cooper has been Dogs**t this tournament? From all the hype surrounding him I was expecting a lot more.

Against Italy he threw some great passes to set up 3 of the tries.
Ireland he was not good.
Today he was shredding, every time he took it to the line he either made it over, offloaded or put someone through a gap.

Not sure what people expect from in a world cup. He does play better in super15, simply because it is a different game.

Quade generally gets better as the tournament goes on, so i guess we should keep an eye on him!

Good sportsmanship by the Americans at the end. After that injury and with the scoreline, no need to continue. Just get it out and get the match overwith.

The USA scrumhalf is the worst I think I've ever seen. He clearly doesn't have much of an idea of the rules either.

True. I was always wondering why he took so long to get the ball out. Still wondering why O'Sullivan put him in in favor of Petri. Must be saving Petri for the Italy match (like Clever, Ngwenya an co.)

Any news on A.Fainanga?

Haven't heard anything bad. I think he might have not even had to go to hospital.

*Suspected* broken cheekbone for Horne *apparently*. That just sucks big time (if true), he is a magnet for injuries...

Australia played some brilliant rugby today, they got the basics right today and brutally outclassed USA, Russia are going to get it even worse.

Australia doesn't stand a chance in winning the world cup without a kicker like Matt Giteau !!! lol, now they will pay the price . there just no way to advance in a world cup towards a final with the shity goal kickers they have !!

Giteau's not that consistent of a kicker though - certainly no more than JOC or Barnes

All capable of getting 100%, all capable of getting 0%

That would be the same Matt Giteau who missed one from right in front of the posts to give England victory down under last summer...?

I'd agree were it not for tehf act taght they get stuck with the midweek matches aswell.

Which is a bit unfair seeing as it's done so as to try not upset the Start of the European Season or the end of the SANZAR season asn more than it already does and spmme of these guys are amatuer and semi-pros taking time off work. Not to mention that the Teir 1 nations also have the strength in depth to manage such things.

Infact, I think this could all be improved by allowing 3 or 4 more players into the World Cup Squads.

I was thinking about this as well, but my logic is letting more players into WC squads still only benefits tier 1 nations. Depth, as far as having quality players, is difficult for tier 2 teams currently. Allowing more players does not seem to me like it would help. I do think the scheduling is unfair, but do to make it fair you would need to ask the IRB to bite the bullet and lose money on the matches that would draw many viewers.

Although I don't think extra time would have changed the result of most tier2 v tier1 matches, it could have played a difference in the Samoa v Wales match outcome, and maybe denied the bonus point in the Canada v France match. (during the final try of that match it was visible the Canadian team was completely gassed)

Great kicker! Hope he kicks like that every time he plays England :p

To be fair that was Karma for going down like a sniper shot him when Hape nudged into him to win the penalty in the first place :p

Unless you're a kiwi and it's quade cooper instead

I don't even wish serious bodily harm on Quade Cooper.

I may joke that I do from time to time, but if it were to actually happen I would be just as horrified.

It was good to see Barnes in Action.

Also, loved the score by the No. 8 from USA.

But again fitness again an issue.

This world cup is not going well for us. Perhaps that will be what gives us the edge come finals time......

I was at this game, and I can tell you that I've never been to a game with the same atmosphere. It was unbelievable. I'd actually say that a most of the USA fans were actually from the United States, who adopted the hate for Quade Cooper from the kiwis. The USA fans were crazy. There were some cheeky Australians sitting amongst where we were (in the centre of the USA couldron), drinking beer and solouting every time Australia scored a try, while a USA fan (who seems like a characature) was just hurling abuse. The boo's at Quade Cooper, the mexican waves, the chants of "Same Old Aussies, Always Cheating" and "USA, USA", it was just manic.
