Any ideas on when the teams will be announced?

I'm very curious to see who would play for the Boks especially after PDV said that he won't pick a second string side... which I hope he doesn't do and that we rack up as many points as we can just in case we maybe lose to Samoa and need the points differential to take us through...

I see Divvy wants to play a full strength squad, in which case I feel for Namibia, as the last time we did that they got 100+ against them.

We apparently might have a flyhalf problem at teh moment though, with Morne Steyn having the flu and Butch james being injured it might fall on Francois Steyn or Ruan Pienaar to fill teh gap.

At any rate I hope they bring Aplon on for this game, he really deserves to get a game in at some point.

please don't let Pienaar play fly half!! put in Lambie at fly half and bring in Aplon!! problem solved!

yeah definetly lambie at flyhalf, he's not as experienced as a player, but it's namibia... give lambie some time wearing 10 i say

Forgot to mention, Lambie is also running with the injured squad thanks to a wrist injury, which is why we might have to entertain the above mentioned options.

well then I suggest Frans Steyn at fly half with Juan De Jongh at inside centre with Aplon coming in at Fullback... Leave Pienaar on the bench... and nowhere near the ball... he was KAK when he came on vs Fiji!!

Will SA rest Schalk and Brussow???? Just curious, they will easily dispatch Namibia by heaps without them.

Please let him play JdV at 12. We need JdV to either stay injured, or get injured again. He is dead weight, and Francois Steyn is exactly what our backline needs. If JDV plays at 12, we can kiss our QF hopes against Australia goodbye. For Namibia, I hope Aplon, Hougaard and Alberts all get to start. We could see a massive scoreline in this game I think. If a team like Fiji couldn't handle the pace we were playing the game at, then Namibia are in for a real torrid time...

Well if it was up to me, i would rest both of them and play Francois Louw and Willem Alberts in their place. but with PDV you'll never know...

Am I the only person who thinks the Bok odds a little... low?

Boks should be looking at a 50 point win bare minimum, even if there are wholesale changes, anything less without a ***an like Namibian performance should be slightly disconcerting. The key is getting past this fixture with no injuries.

schalk and brussow should be rested for Samoa game and beyond. It will be a tough ride after the Nambia game...

The last time we won in NZ against NZ (hamilton 09) was with Brussow-Burger-Spies as the back rower. Along with Bakkies it's by far the best combination for winning at the breakdown. I might even be tempted to put Alberts in for Spies. Spies can sometimes go missing in 'backs to the walls' situations and I doubt Alberts would miss as many tackles as him. Anyway, only the Namibians for now!

If Bryan Habana can't get a try in this game to break the record, I don't know what game he can.

This is the team I think will be starting:

1. Beast
2. Bismark
3. CJ van der Linde
4. Danie Rossouw
5. Johan Muller
6. Francois Louw
7. Willem Alberts
8. Pierre Spies

9. Ruan Pienaar

10. Butch James
11. Bryan Habana
12. Juan de Jongh
13. Jaque Fourie
14. Odwa Ndungane
15. Gio Aplon

If they go for a second team anyway. PDV did say he would constantly play his strongest team, but I don't think we can risk our big guns.

What bugs me a little about Alberts is that for some reason he has been a knock-on guarantee this year. For now it hasn't happened yet in the green and gold, so maybe he is over it.

Just read the article pertaining to the flyhalf injuries.

The thought of Frans Steyn at 10 makes me cringe, he single handily lost the Sharks games in 2009 S14 with his erratic performances there. Mind he was given an opportunity against Italy there for the Boks in Cape Town, didn't impress.

Undoubtedly he has improved and matured since then, but I expect any Sharks and Springbok fans that vividly remember the 2009 campaign will be crying out for Pienaar at 10 instead of Frans.

Pienaar over Frans at fly-half any day for me... I would even consider picking Aplon over Frans for fly-half.

There is no facepalm picture on the internet...

Anyway moving on... I hope either one of the two recovers, hopefully it's a short bout of flu or Lambie recovers in time. I thought Ruan Pienaar was quite good against Fiji, much better than FdP, or was that just me?

Here it is:

On Pienaar: He was pretty decent, despite having 2 rucks turned over where he was taking his time... I think at the moment, looking at form and abilities, this is the order in which I would pick the scrum-half:

1. Hougaard
2. Pienaar
3. du Preez
