RWC: South Africa - Wales (11-09-2011, 20:30)

Is it true that 36,000 people turned out to see off the Boks?
If so, that's immense

Fairplay to South Africa, that's quality :D

I've seen pictures of England leaving at Heathrow - there was no one

If there was a Fanpark in all the major towns yesterday too, then that number would've been far over a million!

if I didn't live 360km away from Joburg, i would've been there myself!!

Shane Williams is a legend. He gets monstered quite a lot though. I also recall one game where Bakkies Botha Caught him from the back after he stepped someone. It was like a bus hitting a car. lol.

Also, end of last year where Frans Steyn brought him down hard and he injured his arm/wrist/shoulder.

Yeah, he's a small guy which means he'll beat you more often than not and make you look silly but he is in a lot of danger if our bigger boys catch him.

On another note; I just saw Arg have waayyy better odds to beat Eng than Wal have against SA. Now I am confident but surely it should be the other way around?

The whole 50 million people behind the Boks intrigues me.

Was there an official spokesperson for the couple of million Zimbabweans who stated their support for the Boks? :p

I hate the 'official Bok supporters song', that een by Freshlyground. That band had the 2010 world cup song, should have left it at that, or got Shakira back.
Also, any Saffas notice how Supersport condones 'jumping into the tackle, and how to perse you're lips and look extremely stupid doing so'? (Spies leaping into the bulldog)

I can imagine the Scotland squad flying from Edinburgh to Heathrow, and a female attendant asking them, "Arrr' yew lads hav'n a conventioon oor sumhing?" :(

that "Bom Bom Bom Bom, Bom Bom, Bom Bom Bom" song is actually quite catchy...

That, 'Shosholoza', 'My Sarie Marais' or 'Groete aan Mannetjies Roux'.

I think this is a good value bet on Wales. Although not a Gatland fan at all, I really see them causing some trouble in this WC. Hard to bet against South Africa, but the odds are decent enough and I think there is a lot of old players with the Saffers. Mind you, all those old guys know is success, so back and forth I go trying to decide where to put my hard earned vcash!

Wel Leon Schuster se Hie' Kommie Bokke raak nooit oud nie!!

Bok van Blerk se "Ons vir jou Suid-Afrika" werk ook blerrie goed!!

"Ons Vir Jou Suid Afrika" is by far the most patriotic song I have ever heard. I love it. The thing I just hate about the song is the negative publicity it gets on the internet because people see it as a pro-Apartheid song. Ridiculous since it's a song about the Boer War.

And it was a song chosen by PDV for the team! i remember when they had a documentary during the B&I loins tour that the team would listen that song everytime before they get out of the bus

Well, South Africa has produced a lot of beautiful pieces of music.

My fav. Afrikaans artist is Albert de Wet... His lyrics are phenomenal.

Afrikaans music, yughh!

So now we know that the best hooker in the world will be starting this game, and that many of the injury clouds of the Bok players have cleared.

Have a wee look at this wee lad and his not so wee kick

That's bloody impressive...

Anyway, since you Saffas have start speaking Afrikaans in this thread I say us Welsh start speaking Welsh too :p
Mae tim rygbi De Africa yn uffernol o ddwl ac yn chwarae'n brwnt! Paid a becso, ddim ond yn tynnu eich coes os yr ydych chi'n gyfiethu hon ;)
