RWC: South Africa - Wales (11-09-2011, 20:30)

Every crowing Saffa on here can suck my dick. Average side shown up by a great Welsh effort, clearly deserved the win as we shat all over them and the sooner Wayne Barnes ****ing dies the better.

Who was it who said Barnes was a good NH ref?
Both sides had dodgy calls, the ass referees Clancy and Munro have no clue what a successful kick is.

South Africa did'nt deserve that win by a long shot. Hope wales play like that for the rest of the tournament. - Was it just me or were SA offside alot at the ruck?

Disregard my posts... I'll post some more articulate thoughts later. Right now I need a rest.

Pffft, instead of blaming/hating/flaming the officials on this look at how massivly you improved you just haven't got that winning edge yet. You shouldn't be happy losing but look at the positives here or atleast give some critisim about the game its just so boring blaming the officials after a game.

So close :(

Wales so far look like to most exciting of the NH sides.

To be fair to SA, the Wales looked to have come off a forward pass. Also that last penalty Wales got should've gone to SA, the Welsh player never released the tackled player.

A few dodgy calls on either side, disappointed Wales didn't win it :(

Very disappointing. SA looked very average to be honest aswell. Warburton was fantastic again. I think those who questioned whether he could match the SA backrow have been shown otherwise. As Argentina found, missed kicks lost us the game.Wales need to focus on Samoa now. Wales can be positive from this now and believe they can get second place.

Wales didnt deserve to win. They were good and matched SA through long periods of the game, but that's not to say they deserved to win. Two soft tries and failure to capitalise on the momentum after their first try = a loss against a team which had the nous (and thus deserved) to win the game.

Where are all the people who said Wales were going to get steamrollered? :p

I admit that I thought it might happen, but this result doesn't really surprise me either to be honest. Good on Wales, shame they couldn't finish it in the end.

Very disappointed with the way South Africa played today. Wales keep coming closer and closer to beating the Boks.

The constant substitutes by South Africa show how confused our coach is. What was that all about?

EDIT: Does anyone know why Matfield was subbed?

That's fine. I don't think Wales deserve to win, but they very much could have and should take some confidence from disappointment. I think SA were perhaps harsh to write off Wales and put them down as an easy win which was very much the opinion voiced at times.

Good close game. Wales could of won it but didn't take their opportunities. The refereeing was alright, saw some dodgy calls but overall the game was a good one to watch.

Hall hail to the best hooker in the World!

John Smit :D

Thanks they have on the bench the best hooker in the Galaxy.

I feel sorry for Wales, they deserved it for a hour, until Bismarck came in... But after that, the game slowly slipped away from them.
And that drop goal...

Wayne Barnes is pure ****. He missed a lot of stuff from both sides, SA's been smarter than Wales and get away better with it.

Lots of emotion there.

Firstly, we are better than an average side, as an average side would have buckled under the pressure Wales put on them. We were totally outplayed tonight though. We couldn't get the ball. Ever.

What we did do though, was take all of our chances when we had them. Which is something that Wales did not do. Every proud Welshman can suck my d.i.c.k that thinks they deserved to win when they were not good enough to beat our defense more than once. We outscored you, with half the possession.

Barnes was useless, and had pathetic calls going against both teams. Wales got away with murder at the breakdown, because they never EVER release the tackled player before trying to steal the ball. The Springboks were offsides a lot, and were not pinged. The calls were bad on both sides, which is another reason why I say Northern Hemishpere referees are useless.

Wales were gallant, determined, and played the best game I have ever seen them play. But one thing they didn't do, was capitalise on all that possession by converting it to points, which is how you win tournaments like these.

Wales out enthused SA for 80 minutes but lost. cant believe a northern hemisphere team to miss crucial kicks. I thought final pass to Faletau was forward. SA very lucky and be interesting to see what happens with Botha and Matfield injuries.

Wales forwards were very cohesive unit and full of running. 9 was good 10 ok centres and Williams great but 15 a worry.

Agree, fed up with the referring laxism with players standing up voluntarily in the opposite side when they don't let them fall in. Except once in the second half, when SA regularly contested the ball, many players disturbing rucks this way.

As for the refused penalty, video should have been asked (moreover after they fired this awful Italian video judge...).

Wasn't calling Wales minnows, was just saying the Springboks are favored over them and that because it's not a mismatch like the other games that South Africa won't take winning for granted and might steamroll Wales as a result if they fire on all cylinders.

No you didnt call Wales minnows, its just the way you said they were going to get smashed that gave me the idea that you thought of them that way, my bad I guess:)

What a great match!!

Absolutely

Great effort from wales. For me i felt hook nailed that penalty.

Same, it was just that the posts were too low for Hooks kick, but it never crossed past that right post so it wouldve been a hard one for the touchies to call it a miss.

Hook, Phillips and Roberts were my pick of the Wales bunch, they played well. Priestland and Faletau played ok. Priestland played more like a 2nd five IMO and while Faletau played good he still has a fair way to go to be up there with some of the no.8s that are around at the moment, but very promising player. In mentioning these standout individuals for Wales, they really needed a more collective effort to put away the Boks.

Springboks did very well to win, they were under pressure and responded like true defending champions.

Good game both teams.

Nice one, way to go. Stating all NH refs are **** based on one crap ref who happens to be from the NH..

Either way tbh Wales should've won. That penalty imo went over and in the end that was the difference. Saying that we also had another 2 shots at it with a drop goal and another penalty but couldnt take those chances.
