RWC Semi Final: New Zealand - Australia (16-10-2011, 21:00)

I wasn't expecting betters here to be in favor of the Aussies to be quite honest.

Yes Mealamu is more brutal, but we're going to need someone to help McCaw out and Hore is probably NZ's next best fetcher if not better.

I've been in awe everytime I've looked at Eze's vcash

You can say that again.

I don't think I've ever looked foward to not looking foward to a game this much. There's a genuine nervousness with everyone and it's not not an excitable one.

You can say that a third time. I was looking forward to the final Tri Nations match with a good kind of excitement, but this one I'm just dreading watching (though I will anyway). I'm not sure how well I'll be able to handle it.

Knowing how I am with big matches, I'll probably have to be extremely drunk before the initial kickoff, especially considering it kicks off at 1:00 a.m. my time and everyone else who lives in my house will be asleep by then.

Have heard this recently about Hore as well and not given it much thought but you'd have to say that's a fair comment, Hore is good, it's interesting how the Hurricanes franchise players all seem to be firing well at this tournament and You have to wonder if they're realeasing the talent that was being stifled by that new Hurricanes coach this year !!

Hurricanes players have been firing year in year out. From early Tana Umaga, Christian Cullen, Jonah Lomu, Jerry Collins, Rodney So'oialo days to the Piri Weepu, Ma'a Nonu, Conrad Smith, Cory Jane, Andrew Hore, Hosea Gear days. We've even let great talent slip into other franchises because we have stuck with the tried and true, Doug Howlett, Robbie Fruean, Isaia Toeava, Israel Dagg, Zac Guildford for example. The Hurricanes have constantly had the most exciting backline and a year in year out All Black dominated backline at that, Don't know why they have never won a championship to be honest.

Because we've also always had an average tight five and an inconsistant 1st 5/8th. We've always had more x-factor than any team out there, but we've also lacked any kind of consistancy and the team that can score a length of the field try one moment can produce 20 knock ons the next.

Bloody Hell, I am struggling to believe some of these odds

Don't do it! It'll make a victory a little less brilliant.

I don't know who makes the odds for the TAB....but it is amazing how accurate they are with rugby odds.....I don't know how many times I have put $20 on those tempting odds for the team playing the ABs....and each time I have lost money.

The ONLY time I have known the TAB to be wrong is when they have odds for the team playing the ABs that is below $2. This weekends game they have basically written off the Wallabies and they hope to make a killing with loads of people betting on a Wallabies win.

Lots of excitement but no nerves though. Im comfortable with the thought of losing. The odds are against my boys and just wanna see them give it their best crack and what ever happens happens! Bring it orrrrn!

I imagine the feeling with Australians is that it wouldn't be such a big thing if you lost. Most people didn't really expect the Wallabies to be in this position this time last week so that fact that they're in with a chance now must be a bonus. Would that be correct?

Yip, yip aaaaand yip.

I guess there's only one way to sum it up: It's that time again.

Too true Dizzy, that last comment is definitely an understatement !  I have been saying the same thing for years !! And thought ' now that they have a new coach, this will be their year' .....but they got worse  I'm just pleased for all of them that they have this time to shine with Nonu and Smith looking like the worlds best centre pairing in recent years. Can't wait for Sunday, I'm expecting something special from the ABs....

Yeah pretty much. Its a big ask to expect the wallabies to win 3 massive games in a row. If we didnt get past SA and dont get past NZ then quite simply we never deserved to win RWC anyway. Im quite comfortable with that.

Mark Hammett has definitely ruined the Hurricanes. How can you tell the worlds most dangerous second five that he is not required in your squad. And tell a man of Andrew Hore's stature he isn't wanted next year. And then the WGTN Rugby Union backs him... I'm regretting not starting a petition.

On the odds though, I sure hope the TAB has it correct and the All Blacks run away with it. If not, I'll get soooo drunk I'll forget the game entirely.

I know the feeling, I am usually really tentative before the ABs play but i don't have the same hesitancy about this game ( maybe I should ! ) there are SO many nervous kiwis before this semi, and you can't blame them considering our recent World Cup track record, but I'm as pumped for this game as I was for the first Tri-nations at Eden Park and the France/ ABs pool game ( was a bit cocky with the latter when I posted a Twitter comment that said ' Attention; Les Bleu's, French passion or not... You guys are gonna get flogged.... ) oops !
