That, I don't understand. The overwhelming majority of the French rugby world has nothing but respect for New Zealand and has never directed any scorn at them--England, for sure, South Africa at times (especially after the 1995 semifinal); but Australia and New Zealand are the two rugby powers that no one speaks ill of in France. Heck, even when we beat Australia in 1987 and New Zealand in 1999 and 2007, most French fans admitted that we were the better team only on the day of the match, and if there had been a rematch a week later in 1987, 1999 and 2007, chances are we couldn't have repeated our fantastic performances.
Of all things, we actually have a marked inferiority complex vs. Australia and New Zealand--we always go into matches against them thinking we're not as good as them and it will take a perfect game on our part to come out on top. So scorn? I simply don't see it.
