On the threshold of RWC2015 there are some talks about naturalization foreign rugby players from Russian Championship. Internet portal rurugby.ru got an exclusive interviews from bunch of New Zealand ruggers which plays in PRL.This rugby players are John Dodd, Ryan Bambry and Tom Fleming. They spent 2 years in Russian Championship and in case of another season here they have an opportunity to receive Russian citizenship and join National team. First one - is Ryan Bambry.

- New season is almost on. Please, tell us about your rugby experience in Russia.
- Experience has been great so far. Мery very different, like style of play etc, but two seasons and two championships, what more could I ask for!
- What do you think about Russian Championship overall rugby level?
- Any competition in any sport, where only 3 of 10 teams are genuinely fighting for the ***le, you would have to say it is average. But hopefully this year that may change.
- How could Russian Championship become better?
- Spread of talent throughout the country will make it stronger. This year Kazan have recruited heavily, and looked decent enough in Turkey when we played them. No one should underestimate them this year so thats great for competition. I hear «Fili» now has many «Slava» players so hopefully they are stronger too. And with Krasnodar a team that specialises in 7s, they should have a team who wants to throw the ball around and play an attractive style of rugby. So, fingers crossed this might be a competitive championship among more teams, which is exactly how it should be.
- If you will get an offer to take the Russian citizenship next year and join National team, would you say yes?
- If i am offered citizenship and national team place, I will say yes.
- This question is about Russian National team level. Please, share your thoughts.
- Very strong backline, with pace and power. So if the forwards can supply enough ball then the team can be dangerous to anyone.
- Is there any chance to improve National team performance?
- There are always improvements for any team in the world, and I'm sure theyre working hard on their weaknesses.
- Do you think Russian National team could prevail in the qualification for next RWC in England? Will you take part in it if you have a chance?
- Definetly. If they can win next weekend then they will set themselves up in a stronger position for the last series of qualifying next year and put everything into it. If I was asked to be invloved, of course I would say yes.

- I have really enjoyed my rugby experience here. Each year something different. I have made some good friends and am thankful for the opportunity to come back.

- What do you think about Russian Championship overall rugby level?
- The overall level of the championship is not so good. Each year only 3 teams truly fighting for finals. I hear this year maybe 4 teams with Kazan improving greatly in their offseason.

- How could Russian Championship become better?
- I personally feel their are too many teams. This dilutes the number of quality players at any team and therefore many weak teams. So perhaps remove some teams. Or maybe a split format where in first round all teams play. After this top 5 qualifying teams go into one competition. And bottom 5 teams go to another. Therefore creating more games of higher intensity between similar matched teams. I think the shorter finals series this year will also help improve the quality of these games.

- If you will get an offer to take the Russian citizenship next year and join National team, would you say yes?
- If that opportunity arises at this stage I would say yes. But it is a long time away still. I for now just need to concentrate on playing well for «Krasny Yar», and hopefully there will be an opportunity to come back again.

- This question is about Russian National team level. Please, share your thoughts. Is there any chance to improve National team performance?
- I personally have not watched a lot of their games. But looking at their results it seems they are moving in the right direction. With a few more goals against Georgia could have been a different game. But with any team of course there are chances to improve and I'm sure the coaching staff are looking closely at this.

- Do you think Russian National team could prevail in the qualification for next RWC in England? Will you take part in it if you have a chance?
- Yes I think they will. If they keep working as they are I see no reason why they would not qualify. Like I said earlier if the opportunity was there at this stage I would take it. But there is still a lot of work to be done before I can think about such things.

Your idea is good but to be realist, Russian organizers need to have a very big sponsor, like Gazprom / Aeroflot / Sistema

Thanks for federal clubs. No SibFu / Krasnoyarsk Academy / Cosmos Krasnoyarsk in Federal League that's curious, they played in RPRL few years ago

I do not think that Russia's conduct of the tournament will be expensive. Here it will be necessary for tens of billions of euros for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi or FIFA World Cup 2018, as there core budget is spent on the construction of sports facilities and new infrastructure (roads, hotels, airports, ..). In 2017 all the infrastructure will be ready for Euro Rugby will need only organizational costs (the millions, not billions of euros). If there is interest Mutko, problems with the sponsors will not. Of course, it is desirable, if the IRB will make a counter-move and show interest.
I Federal League play not all amauter clubs, the rest play in local cities or regions Chempionships.

What an embarrassment for Connacht. http://youtu.be/x4_pr6iqgQg?t=9m2s

Getting shunted over their own line by a Russian scrum, the worst scrummaging nation of the RWC.

They had Rodney Ah You who often features in their first XV in the lineup as well, as well as some Ireland U20 representatives. Very embarrassing for them.

psychic duck
What RWC play Enisey-STM?;) From this scrum only Botvinnikov and V.Tsnobiladze play for Russia on RWC.
And after the game Enisey coach Pervukhin and players says in this year's Connacht exhibited the most strongest squard in recent years. And in the battle were two experienced props in the start that kept the balance, but after replacement they, scrum Connaught became weaker (have you seen an Rudoy try at the end of the match).
