"Happy with match, i think we achieved everything we set out to do. Conditions were difficult with the heavy field and wet ball so to score 40 points was a good positive for us.
Kicked a lot in the first half to get some territory but second half our forwards started to get good quality ruck ball and we were able to more with the hands and stretch slavas defence.
Looking forward to 2-nd semi final in Krasnoyarsk, nothing is guaranteed until the final whistle blows so very important we play well again this week."

Dodd:

"Obviously this loss hurts. In the end the result could have gone either way. It just goes to show we have to turn up and play our best. We beat VVA twice this year, but they came out strong yesterday and I don't think we were quite prepared enough in that first half. It just goes to show you can't take anything for granted. It will certainly make for an interesting match here in Krasnoyarsk in a week. We did it last year and we will be confident we can do it again. We just have to freshen up, prepare well, and get the basics right."

"Very difficult conditions against slava. It was hard to execute our game plan in such bad field conditions, but i should have adjusted earlier and done things differently. Still, 40 points in the mud is ok.
Very happy we are into the final and now we can forget about all other teams and focus on krasny yar. They played well against VVA and just because we have beaten them twice this season doesnt mean anything. It all starts at zero on saturday. I love this type of rugby and cant wait to play."

"Well, what can I say... Last week of course we let ourselves down, no disrespect to VVA, but we did not play to our full potential. I must congratulation them on a commendable season with the injuries they received. But as a team we feel like we are getting better and better and today was solid evidence of that.

We felt really fresh from a light training week, and from the start of the match dominated straight away with great accuracy and energy. To be up 43-6 at half time was pretty impressive. It was the most complete half of rugby we have played in the 2 years I have been involved with Yar. It was extremely enjoyable to be apart of that performance, and more so to please our fans with the style in which we played.
On to STM... They are our formidable apponants and it will no doubt be a very hard physical 2 games coming up. But we are ready. I hope it doesn't get any colder and we can fill our stadium on Saturday.
One last thing... I would like to thank all of our staff at Krasny Yar Rugby, especially the ground staff, who make our field a dream to play on. It is easily the best playing service and stadium in the PRL, and they did a remarkable job yesterday to clear 10cm of snow so we could play. And it was in perfect condition! So thank you to them."

In more games tipical attandence, only VVA-KY in Monino and Krasnoyarsk ~1500-2500. I hope in finals we see full capacity. And good news second final and mayby first broadcast local TV channel Enisey-Region and mayby Russia sputnik channel Sport 1 HD.

"The weather conditions dictated the type of rugby to be played. The frozen ground made it difficult under foot plus the snow caused the ground and the ball to become slippery. This mean a lot of kicks in play and not a lot of ball in hand. The referee was good i thought, fair to both teams although it took time for both teams to adjust to his rulings.
Unfortunately as an 8 we let the team down at scrum time. I think we will go to work this week and try to fix a few of problems and it will make for an interesting final game."

"Tough match yesterday, not helped by the weather of course.
Scrum was great again as it always is, but we gave krasny yar possession too easily with bad handling errors and this lasted for 80 minutes.
A positive for us is that we played badly, but we still didnt lose to a very good team.
Fingers crossed we can play at central stadium next week where the field apparently has underground heating. i dont care if it snows, i just want to play on a field that is not frozen like yesterday."
