Rugby Europe Championship 2018

It was boys against men out there. The size of the german players was not at all close to international level, barely even youth rugby level I'd say. It was a struggle to tackle the Romanian players even it seemed let alone challenge them. This crisis in german rugby seriously needs sorting out.
Romania seem to have got in two great big lumps of players in the 12 and 14 (did you see that bop off!!??). A few very nice tries out there as well albeit against useless opposition.
Never in doubt the result and it's a lovely warmup game for Romania next week. Can't wait for that one!

Even a full strength Germany would not be a certain victory against Portugal (although they'd be strong favourites). Self destruction of the highest order.

Georgia again showing a new ability to score heavily.

Can't take much from this match to be honest and unfortunately is not a good advertising for REC. I feel for Germans, to have their team dismantled by petty politics.

I hope no one was injured, two players, one German and one Romanian went out due to injuries but so far we don't know how bad it is.

What do you think of Romania's team this year? And what are you expecting from them for the REC?

Qualification and winning the Antim Cup of course. Will be difficult in Tbilisi but this team can do it, after all we are holders of the trophy now. I think is a normal expectation.

This is shameful

As much as I would love to see Spain beat Romania in front of the big crowd expected in Madrid next Sunday, the fairest outcome is to see us beaten by Romania, quietly take the Europe 2 spot that was anyway pretty close to Spain even by losing in Russia and let things be forgotten.

Yeah I couldn't believe what I saw in the game. Why on earth is there no TMO in an international tournament live on tv? And I thought Wales were robbed of a try yesterday The result Spain deserved though I say despite that incident.

True that. If Spain manages to edge a win next week, we could have an absurd situation where Romania win back to back European ***les, but still have to go to Repechage.

It would also be another nail in the coffin for Canada.
(Though Spain is already the favourite to win the Repechage Tournament after that Russia result)

I take back what I was saying about Antim Cup. According with last info it seems many players who play abroad will have to go back to clubs at the time of the match from Tbilisi.

At least you're not playing Spain in that game week then!

It really depends on how many will return to clubs. If they're 1-2 than there's no problem, if most of them will go back than it will be hard to replace them

From an Irish perspective I'm watching the Spain-Romania game with interest as it's likely to determine one of the teams in our world cup pool. Obviously Romania are favourites but what kind of chance do Spain have?

Can't see past a Romania win today. They are a really solid, well balanced team from I've watched so they should be able to take Spain. So I'm going for Romania by 9

Romania is way better and we have a team more French than Spanish

On one hand I want to see Spain in the next World Cup, on the other hand I don't like the perspective of having to support a foreign legion

I really don't get this, they're mostly Spaniards born abroad...
