Lambie is a similar player to Kirchner at fullback but slower, only difference is he's a playmaker as well. Every game that i've seen Lambie play at fullback for the Boks he hasn't been making scorching breaks, he plays pretty much the same role that Kirchner plays.

I doubt he would make much difference at 15 to be honest, he should be considered as a 10 but Goosen is a better player.

Personally i think the changes needed in the backs are at 13 and 10.

put dagg in the SA backline today, dagg will be half the player he is today... the SA backline does not help lambie much... plus i see lambie more of a flyhalf and an outside centre... he is too creative for fullback... and he is playing in a one dimentional backline...

that is why i don't think Zane is the right player, Zane does what M.Steyn does... kcik the ball away instead of creating chances with ball in hand.. keeping ball in hand have better odds in retaining possesion then making a 50/50 kick

The Boks don't actually kick that much though... that's just a common misconception. The Aussies and Argies kick much more than they do.

They just play a very one dimensional crash ball game.

I agree that Kirchner shouldn't be their fullback for that much longer. I just think he's doing a solid job at the moment, i don't think playing Lambie instead will really change that much.

Until someone can step up and stake a claim (i think Taute has the potential to be excellent) there really aren't too many options for the Boks at 15 at the moment.

Pienaar-Lambie as our halfbacks, F. Steyn-R. Ebersohn/Jordaan as the center pairing with Ludik or Taute as our full-back. Yes, they might be young but if we are going to lose anyway (as we will do with this crap backline) we might as well get our youngsters ready while we're at it.

I hope (from SA's point of view) that Frans Steyn doesn't get put back to 15, he's so much better as a centre.

I think Ezequiel has the right backline just about, (unless FdP and Fourie ever become available again).

i'm talking about the aimless/pointless kicking ping pong game the play... hoping the opposition knocks on or make a mistake so tha tthey can gain territory as they don't have game breakeers in the backline to gain territory...

yes i also said earlier this year Taute needs to play at fullback for SA... lambie on 10 or 12... JP on 13, Morne "Stain" lol and JDV needs to play Currie Cup only... Bismark needs to be captain...

I think our Kicking in the game was very good. We knew that they won't outkick us, so all we did was to punt the ball downfield as far as possible and expect them to kick it back, which they did, resulting in our lineout throw and a huge territory gain. If only we had a better thrower at the line-outs.

On another note though, Nathan Sharpe baiting young Eben was disgusting.
Lost a lot of respect from him, but well done from being a sneaky ******* I suppose.

Then for whatever reason young Eben got lairy and decided to take things too far. Rookie mistake when there are cameras and video footage everywhere.


What perplexed me was Owens having a go at Sharpe afterwards :huh:

Yes, Steyn is not a fullback. It took SA a few years to realise this, after he left the country. Will they make the same mistake with Lambie?
JP and Hougaard on the wings, possibly Willie le Roux.

mmmmm... could have been a planned move from AUS :? they probably saw in the vids that Eben has got short temper and he is not experienced...

i'm sure Sharp and Co has been wrestling whole game to get a reaction or retaliation from him...

My question is where is JDV as captain :? Surely he should have talked to Eben or the younger guys about this...

That is a captain's job, not just deciding to kick for touch or go for posts...
