Rugby 2012 player ratings? Players with 99

NZ:
- Mealamu 92 - Thorn 92 - Kaino 89 - McCaw 97 - Read 90 - Weepu 92 - Carter 95 - Gear 91 - Nonu 90 - Smith 91 - Jane 91 - Muliaina 93 .
AUS:
- Sharpe 83 - Elsom 89 - Pocock 91 - Genia 84 - Cooper 86 - Mitchell 90 - AAC 88 - OConnor 89 - Beale 92 .
SA:
- Du Plessis 89 - Botha 87 - Matfield 93 - Smith 93 - Burger 91 - Spies 88 - Du Preez 94 - Steyn 90 - F.Steyn 85 - Habana 87 - Fourie 91 - De Villiers 85 .
ENG:
- Lawes 87 - Moody 81 - Youngs 88 - Cueto 83 - Hape 83 - Ashton 88 - Foden 86 .
IRE:
- Heaslip 82 - BOD 92 - Bowe 87 .
WAL:
- Williams 88 - North 85 - Hook 87 .

That lot all looks fair if using the 1-100 system, although Foden is horrendously under-rated there. Between 92-94 Would be closer to the mark.

Jane, Smith & Mealamu also are high IMO. Weapu at 92 when Genia is only 84 is taking the ****.

imo AAC should be the highest rated player for the Wallabies, and Tatafu-Polota-Nau should be high eighties. Matt Giteau on current form would be lucky to crack 80

@ _george

I think they are very accurate
Heck I'm biased to the Boks a bit but the slightly lower stats you've given them seem more fitting :)
(though, I'd move F Steyn to 87)

Also I think the difference between Weepu and Genia is bang on (but I havent watched Genia much, so yeah)

That seems generally fair enough. But only 82 for Heaslip? He deserves to be 88/89 imo.

Agree with what people have said, only thing with above is possibly North, only because he's only played like 3 games for Wales. Played great in those game, but possibly generous with his rating, due to the fact he's a rookie. If he keeps performing like he did, I'm sure that if a patch came for the game half way through season, after world cup, i'm sure he'd be close to that. But due to lack of gametime, only his first full season in Regional rugby too, possibly too high of a rating (for now at least). Also hook would be possibly lower, with Jamie Roberts being around what hook is there. so possibly Hook 84/85 with Roberts being more 86/87 :D

Yeah, I'd rate Halfpenny at about 85, but not North (yet).
Adam Jones would certainly be high 80's (~88).

AAC would depend on his primary position. Right now at 13 I'd say 88 is fair.

Totally agree with you there Draggs, Adam Jones should possibly Wales' Best player with Shane and Roberts just behind. Adam Jones should without a doubt be one of the best props (especially Tight Head) in NH and possibly in top 3/5 in world. Shane (in his final season of international rugby) is still one of the best wingers in world rugby (IMO), he's a game breaker (sometimes a liability with some decisions) and it showed against SA and the rest of the Autumn internationals that Wales miss him (no spark). Hopefully he gets the credit he deserves :D :D :D

I think 99 is a bit over the top. Nobody would be good enough for a 99, Dan Carter would be the highest I presume, but not 99.

On Rugby 08 I was shocked to see that according to the player stats that Stephen Jones is quicker than Hook and even more shocking than this is that Mike Phillips is faster than the both of them!

Hook 70 Speed, 70 Acceleration, 71 Agility

Stephen Jones 72 Speed, 80 Acceleration, 80 Agility

Mike Phillips 76 Speed, 72 Acceleration, 66 Agility

Other Fly Halves:

Wilkinson 77 Speed, 87 Acceleration, 85 Agility

Flood 73 Speed, 65 Acceleration, 59 Agility

ROG 72 Speed, 77 Acceleration, 83 Agility

Not having the time to read the whole thread, but it is clear that nobody is going to agree on what players get what ratings, so as long as they are editable then who cares?! Also add to that player position and nationality... on the last version Lewis Moody was a centre and Dan Hipkiss was a kiwi!

My suggestions for ratings using last seasons All Blacks:

Remember this is the rating based on their position and is indicative of that position only and not necessarily relevantly comparable to another position , I rated them based them on what I thought they should be .

My take on the wallabies:

Forwards:

Alexander: 80
Moore: 83
Slipper: 78
Chisholm: 81
Sharpe: 85
Elsom: 82
Pocock: 90
Palu: 83

Backs:

Genia: 84
Cooper: 85
Mitchell: 87
Giteau: 83
A. Cooper: 83
O'Conner: 82
Beale: 87

Just found out about this forum :). Honestly in my opinion there are only three players that derserve to be in the 90's. And that is Richie McCaw, Daniel Carter and Fourie Du preez. They are the three best players in the world no doubt, but nobody is perfect.

Richie McCaw, Daniel Carter, brian o'driscoll, mils muliania and Fourie Du preez
