I like this idea, but the costs would be far too much, go play Jonah Lomu Rugby if you really want a 95 world cup replay. I would much rather they spent the budget on realistic gameplay and current players licenses than online / classic matches.

I agree with the above.
As I said previously I would be happy if they just introduced 20 Unlock-able Legends after winning the World Cup with that country rather than re creating each classic match. These players could be drafted into any team or create your own team the gamer wants.

It's hard to take a all time XV seriously with only three All Blacks one of which is Murray Mexted which wouldn't go in my top 20 All Black locks. No Richie McCaw, Dan Carter, Christian Cullen and Colin Meads. I think this idea wouldn't bee too costly. I'm sure many people would give consent for no other reason then raising their own profile.

I think if there were to be a Classic All Star XV it shouldn't include any current players only Legends i.e. no Carter or McCaw etc

I like the idea of an all stars team for each country. You could simply have a poll for each nation and their 22 all time squad. I would rather these than classic matches that dont have classic players.

For one, Mexted has never played lock before, he was a specialist number 8.
Secondly, he wasn't a very good number 8, let alone a legend. Half the country thought he shouldn't have made the all blacks in the first place, Dale Atkins was on fire when Mexted was picked over him.
Everyone should stick to choosing players from their own countries..

How about, instead of the extra work having to be put in to creating realistic faces and the hassle of licensing of classic players, when you complete challenges you unlock a "legend card".
It would be just a picture of a classic player with a good bio (including why this player was unlocked by that specific challenge), stats and a maybe a short highlights package clip.
Or for achieving team challenges you would get a "legend card" of a particular team (including the year) it would have a photo of the squad, a bio of the team as a whole, stats for the year and a player list maybe. I just think it would be easier to implement and be another reason to keep playing the game.

For example, complete the challenge;
Set new individual try scoring record at the world cup = Jonah Lomu
Set new individual try scoring record in a Super 14 season = Joe Roff
Injure a player with a tackle = Brian Lima
Kick a conversion with a forward = John Eales
Kick a dropkick with a forward = Zinzan Brooke
New record for most trys in a career (assuming stats are carried over in game) = Daisuke Ohata
Score a hattrick with a full back for the all blacks = Christian Cullen
Kick a dropkick from half way = Don Clarke (There is some amazing archive footage of Don Clarke slotting a dropgoal from behind his own half with his right foot, and then later on in the same game slotting another from the same spot with his left.)


etc, or..

Go undefeated in a season of super 14 = 2002 Crusaders
Beat the allblacks with a club team = 1978 Munster
Defeat a 6 nations, tri nations or argeninan team with any other international team in the world cup= 1991 Samoa
Complete a grandslam tour of the home nations with NZ = 1978 all blacks
Complete a tour undefeated = 1924 NZ Invincibles

etc.

This also crosses over to the trophys and achievement thread, say there are 150 player cards and 50 team cards,

You could have

10G collect all Wales' player cards
10G collect all NZ player cards

or

50G collect all Worldcup cards
20G collect all Super 14 cards

or

250G collect a quarter of the legend cards
500G collect half the legend cards

World Rankings

As a replacement of Rugby World Cup Challenge Mode I think it would be great if there were 'The World Rankings Challenge' where the player picks a Team from the main rugby teams in the World (New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, France, Ireland, Argentina, England, Wales, Scotland) :

The Aim would be to use a rankings system similar to the IRB World Rankings to get the team of your choice to the Top of the Table (or if its New Zealand to stay at the top)

Play a Season with that Team and Win all ***les (Four Nations/Six Nations, Autumn Internationals (trophy), Rugby World Cup)

Some Classic Matches would be featured during the Season with various Objectives.

Once its completed in Easy, Medium or Hard then 3 Legends from that country will be Unlocked.

I think a Classic Player Fantasy Draft will work best where you can use transfer windows to buy classic players and then use them in Newly Created or Existing teams.

You just had to say that you ignorant a$$,dont talk about something you know nothing about,and it seems you know less about rugby,so let me get this right you have the 97 Lions but you dont have the 74 Lions(considered to be the best Lions side of all time)
09 ireland but no 09 Springboks
87 france but no 87 Allblacks(who won the first RWC)
2002 leiscester tigers but no 2002 Crusaders(who went the season undefeated and who would have crushed the tigers)
munster current but no Bulls current(who will at their best wipe the floor with munster)
95 NZ but no 95 SA (Who won 14 games in a row and took the RWC)
no 97 Allblacks
no 98 Springboks(who equaled NZ run of 17 games in a row)(no Lithuania who broke that record )
no 76(I think) Jaguars ( who became the first and only south american side to ever beat the Boks lead by the great Hugo Porta)
the 07 Springboks was a great side but not close to being classic
The only one I do agree with is the 03 english side but I think that was more of a lucky guess.
What you are saying is that SA legends like Frik du Preez,Mannetjies Roux,Paul Roos,Erol Tobias and Doc Craven should not be included because of apartheid,well then we should get rid of england as well who made the whole worlds lives miserable for many,many years.
