those pics from the HB site banner are from a movie, or intro sequence

the gameplay graphics will NOT look like that

All pics that were on  HB's site as banners for cricket2004 and rugby2004 werent gameplay pics
Yeah but did the game look like them? yes

If you want i'll show you a hi-res in-game FIFA 2005 pic, that is what they will look like. [/b]
actually dude

post up a few pics from FIFA2004

if they are using the same engine the visuals, SHOULD, be nearly identical

i look at FIFA2004 the other day at EB......just to get a glimpse of what R2k5 may look like.

If they can make R2K5 play anything near like and look like a shitty soccer game - its a big step for rugby games, even tho the soccer game is crap, it just emphasises how little attention rugby has gotton in the past.

Even so, this Rugby101 is the most promising thing towards this project

This to me, means they are satisfied with core aspects and have had room, or budget for Rugby101.
However if they have taken the same approach as 2004, and want depth over gameplay, then i'll be spewing
Even tho this is HB, what input into the game does EACanada have
They have made, NBAlive and FIFA, but whom was the developer (HB aquivilent), of NBAlive and FIFA.
NBAlive isnt too bad, but its a pidgeons compared to ESPN's baskeball addition.
If EACanada have had alot of input, this will sound promising....unless of course they also did Rugby2004............whom published Rugby 2004.....i cant remember..........i just have nightmares about HB, and have given EA the benefit of the doubt. (But not anymore after Sanzars quality post, EA can burn and die, after they make TW2006 for me).

I'll get some fifa 2005 pics, not 2004 - they're using the 2005 engine.
(1600x1200 reduced to 800x600)
Wide shot before game

About to start

Broadcast Camera (zoomed right out)

End-on view

This is a bloody good representation of what to expect - look at the crowd their exactly the same... and the player models will look that good.

look this is a shot from fifa 2005 before release, any resemblence to rugby 2005?

84062_full.jpg

They are not from videos - they are from the game just at different angles! if it was a movie like PES it would look hellishly better

agreed the pre-release pics are identical..i mean rugby2005 pre-release and FIFA2005 pre-release

look at the FIFA2005 pre-release pic and the gameplay pics - they are completely different in regards to crowd detail and resolution...is this because of the angle and sunlight and zoomed in factor

in WCR the graphics when playing up close looked alot better than the graphics from far cam.

however umo - u have successfully showed me a good indication (if FIFA2005 is anything to go by)...cheers man

can u give any insight to these queries

change of heart i see ak47, i wonder if the players in rugby 2005 will ridiculously huge leg muscles like the soccer players from fifa 05?

Let me know if I'm being a pest but didn't locks say he would get his hands on the game around this time of January? Any news man?

P.S. Are there demos for cricket 2004/2005?

change of mind my friend

my heart is still broken from rugby 2004

and will remain broken until i play a good ruggers

until i play it, i will constructively post looking for all angles covered, to give me the best insight as to what i am going to play come march

the big point to me is, its HB again

same mob, diff tools

lets see if they know how to use technology this time around
hopefully this EAcanada will work wonders
pretty sure its been posted before, but this is of fthe HB site itself

HB Studios has expanded its workforce in preparation for the new projects with further expansion to come over the next 12 months.

this along with Rugb101 is the best news thus far
the comment on Rugby 2005 will be the first project under the new deal is a bright light at the end of this forever dark tunnel

Nice. I wasn't too active when locks got a look at R2004 last time. How much is he allowed to tell us?

I'm not saying this is what we will get this time, but last time he provided us with several videos of in game footage.

Do ESPN do any Rugby stuff in the States?
extremely minimal ripper

but if rugby is telelvised in the states - it would likely be on ESPN, or one of their affiliates

Ripper, nope. Rugby here is only shown and covered by Fox Sports World which is soon being renamed Fox Soccer Channel. Still will have rugby on it though apparently.

And you all still went ahead and bought it?

An in game video this early would be very pleasing. By the way guys, they're playing the 1st Rugby 2005 video at my local EB (and I suppose EB around Australia) and it's also advertised in their catalogue.
