Neh, do I gotta tell you everything? Next thing you'll be asking how to drink sulphuric acid.

Dude, just try it (the sulphuric acid part) you'll be fine.

Go for it, Jimbo, the good captain has given you the 'all clear.'

Back to topic, think they'll have the list of generic names that some of the commentators can pronounce?

Hey, what's the point of creating players (be they classic players or your own damn self) if there is no franchise/dynasty thing that keeps stats and track?

nah f*** off it will sound like the last game imagine it "passes it out to cap ii taaaaan aaa meear iii ca

Didn't they just say the Number or the position when they couldn't pronounce and intricate surname like Smith, or Jones, or Neh?

what really gets me is why...why did most of us here still buy rugby 2004 when we were shown screen shots like this are we really that gullable!?

Cause when the characters hair is blown dry to that height, it looks really awesome.

Must admit, the stadiums are slightly improved for 05 - Not a great deal but enough. At least now we have dynamic lighting and stadium shadows, this is rugby 2004, looks pretty crap.

see what i mean by shadows, and it actually looks like the fans are in the sun now!

i think the reason we were so gullable, is simply that we wanted a rugby game to enjoy

... despite hearing indifferent reviews and playing a shoddy demo of it, I still went out and bought it at full price (with Wilko on the cover, not O'Gara - and thats tough for an irishman to do!) ... all for the reason that I thought I'd find a way to like it... so it may not look too pretty, but its rugby and as long as it plays like rugby I would be happy to play it until a newer version came out

... alas myself and absolutely everybody felt the same way... utterly disappointed (**** on from on high!)

I remem on the PS2 not even being able to read the screen text, the font they picked was so bad ... and the load times!!! christ, the load times were shocking

... one thing about WCR, you could pick it up and play real quickly, a real bonus!

WCR for a first attempt was so much better than rugby 2004 they weren't even comparable. Yes Rugby 2004 had the features, but who gives when gameplay was the way it was.

very true, credit where credit is due ... as a first attempt on the hardware, WCR was (and is) very commendable and from a small company too
... whether people like the arcade style or not, Swordfish set out their stall from the start and described it pretty much as it then shipped

EA/HB on the other hand, 2nd version of the game and they totally botched it up! and all the PR about it being this great and that great... ********! - from reading reviews and general talk (never played it) R2002 was a decent first attempt, why or how could they not make an update/advance of any real note?

who knows, maybe this time we'll get a decent (not great - I don't mind waiting for the series to evolve!) game that satisfies the basic need for sound playability

I think we can all be realistic, a few flaws we can deal with, but get the basics right this time round and the majority of folk would be pleased and probably quite happy to buy the game then

... as always, judgement is reserved until further notice!

WCR had the basic fundementals right, eg Passing was quick and crisp - Kicking was smooth, animations generally pretty smooth - compare that to rugby2004... wait its not even worth talking about.

If they can build on WCR for WCR2 and make it a bit more simulation, and a bit more in-depth for advanced users then theres no reason why it can't be better than EA's effort again. They've said the kicking has been improved in rugby2005 - can't wait to see this one after their effort in 04....

I thought you were meaning using the analog stick to kick in the way that Tiger woods games use it to drive the golf ball??
