Rugby '15 announced

How do we know there is no career mode? Did I miss this? I know there is no online as they mentioned that ages ago. Unless that has changed.

If it doesn't have a career mode, I won't buy it. Simple as really. Hope that's not the case though.

Nothing been announced exactly about whether or not there is one, but from the articles that the French journalists have been writing, they haven't seen an option for it on what you imagine is the final build of the menu of the game. So as it stands, I don't think it has been 100% ruled out (anyone feel free to correct me if I've missed something here) but it looks highly unlikely that it will be added in at this late stage, unless by some slim chance they've been working on it since the start but didn't finish it in time to add to the pre-beta build that have so far been showcased.

I agree or at least hire first or wait till super cheap.

Can you even still do that?! I thought the days of renting from the likes of Blockbusters was long gone :D

Ok. Hope so. At least in the next one! World Cup edition haha

I will still buy it.

I mainly play rugby games against my friends and brothers. it's more of a social interaction type of game like guitar hero or the wii.

I'm with Heineken, it could have no career mode and still be better than RC if the game play is good. If it has a career I'll get it on PS4, if not PC.

Ah so a screenshot with a tweet from yourself ... cracking. Not doubting, just really would like to see something from the official feeds first.

You are hilarious mate, if you haven't seen some of my videos and you are constantly discussing rugby 15 then I don't know, I have a youtube channel with 1.4k subscribers and constantly dedicated to posting rugby 15 news and updates and my subs seem to enjoy it. In this video I posted, I chatted to the head of press release and marketing at Bigben Interactive, asked him and question and he replied, and that is what the screenshot is!!! Saying I made it up you sir have no idea, I love looking for info and talking about it, I am followed on twitter by this head of press release at Bigben Interactive, as well as the officisl rugbythegame twitter page. So enough said, and ps I edited that post above due to two reasons, firstly I don't want to self-promote myself and secondly I took it down because I honestly don't need skeptics on my channel and you are obviously one of them.

CallumWhitten, the person you were just talking with is a loyal subscriber of mine and can comfirm everything that I have just said, thank you and good day to you sir!!

And the ruck system appears to be the worst we ever had.

jmmontoro were you able to translate properly the last french article? Does it say something negative about the rucks, other then analog "sweet spot"? Does it mention anything about adding or removing players from the ruck? I had mixed feelings when I heard originally about the analog control for rucks. As everyone that knows me knows , I personally think the rucks are the most, if not one of the most important aspects of the game. Rucks will make or break the game, (the heart of rugby) . I thought, at least they are trying something new and did not just re hash RWC 2011's only one animation, no brains system. The sweet spot analog thing could maybe work good with, the addition of being able to (hand in ruck, pilfer, add and remove players). If it is the only thing, then it will be total mierda.

Cheers and Salud

I think you really overestimate the importance of twitter. I'm followed by a ton of press/pr/media/rugby types on twitter, and have organised interviews and competitions and the like with them through those means, doesn't mean we're best mates.

Your videos are just really readily available information (from facebook, twitter, here etc.) but with click-bait ***les.

Also, I'm not sure why you're coming on here willy swinging considering TRF has a long history with HB Studios/Rugby games (have a look in the RWC2011 credits, for example).

Lion, don't know, I can only translate from my poor french what the reviewer interpreted from his short experience while playing the game.
It should be noted that the game system for the dispute of the ball has been completely changed. The player is requested to move both joysticks in 360 degrees until you find the right direction and hold it for a few seconds. The first to find the correct position wins the battle for the ball. Quite different approach from its predecessors, this system has the advantage of preventing the player from button smashing on every ruck. Also, as you guessed, the direction to find for the win changes each time randomly. It will be interesting to see if the system doesn't get boring after a few games.

Good news for you Lion and for everyone else, there are penalties in rucks as this screenshot confirms.

Incredibly disappointed about there being no career or online modes.
For me career mode is the essence of why we play sports games. You want to play as your team and play the season like they would in real life and take control of them. I wouldn't even mind if we just had a season mode like Rugby challenge, because that's what it is, you can't honestly call that a career mode. Tournament mode doesn't absolutely nothing for me.

The only reason i played online in Rugby Challenge was because of the bad gameplay and ridiculous AI, with their offloads and unrealistic passing. Also because of the poorly implemented career mode.

If the gameplay in this one isn't up to par then it is going to get boring very quickly for me!

I really hope it just hasn't been included yet because of the licences still being negotiated!

I feel you mate, exactly how I feel about sports games. Pretty much the only game mode I play with Fifa and Rugby League Live 2, so I definitely will be annoyed if its not in there.

Online I'm not too bothered about, if only because it seems that the online player base for these games dry up quite quickly. Didn't take long for it to be hard to find games on RC and RWC2011, can't comment on RC2 though. That said, it could just be a side effect of the disappointing gameplay of all of those game, but even with games that had quite good gameplay like RLL2 (arguably one of the best Rugby sims of either code around atm), it's still nigh on impossible to get a game online.

I will still 100% be buying Rugby 15, but that's because I'm always looking for a new rugby game to get into.
