How cool is that? Man, he deserves it. He has done enough in Europe so he can return to the Sharks now ;)

not exactly fair play to give leinster a £10,000 prize 'towards youth development'. They develop enough bloody youths as it is!

**** off. He's ours now. You can't have him back. We're going to nick his passport.

Excellent! Definitely one of Ulsters most influential players this year! Cant wait till next season!

Without Pienaar, Ulster wouldn't have made the playoffs. He took a while to settle in and it was January before he showed signs of good form but he won matches almost single handedly during the 6 Nations and beyond. Was it three last minute winning kicks in four weeks? He deserved the award.

Awesome. Then he can only be really rather good against people at Ravenhill instead of everywhere in the HEC and ML! ;)

To be fair he's made a massive impact at Ulster, congrats.

No, we'll just chain the passport to Stephen Ferris' wrist for away games.

Is Ruan Pienaar South Africas Tom Croft/Tommy Bowe? Everybody likes the guy

Well deserved, great player and a real asset for Ulster

At the time he wrote that, Farrelly was right. Pienaar took a long time to settle in and almost looked disinterested at times. He's been fantastic since the turn of the year though, Bath away being the turning point in his season.

Well, Bulls supporters seem to dislike him because of the fact that he was picked over Morne Steyn in 2009

In the name of balance...

Pienaar single handedly won the Glasgow game, more or less, which was very soon after he arrvied, and was playing in a team with 3 different fly-halves in 4 games, and behind a pack that thought ball protection was cupping your hands in front of your meat and two veg. And, when things were going well, he was taking the kicks only because iHumph was out injured and the pack was actually doing its job.

Pienaar's been fantastic, but like every scrum-half, he pretty much lives and dies by what goes on in front of him.

And Farrelly was a tool then and probably is a tool now. And licks windows.
