RBS 6 Nations - England vs Wales - 25/02/2012, 16:00

Walsh avoids any breakdown issues by instantly blowing up agaisnt Wales..

Look I know England were great today but the outrage that is Steve Walsh has been impeding Wales at the breakdown for years. Please lord never let him ref a Wales game again.

He was poor for both sides not just us.

I don't think so. Time ran out just before the TMO, I certainly didn't here advantage over from the ref. That no try decision was a tough call to make although I think the TMO was probably right, Inconclusive

Yes time had run out .. just watched it back

I think we've found our 10, 12 and 13 for a while ( particularly exciting as Tuilangi is a couple of games off fully fit). Ben Youngs. Dear oh dear.

Great match. Heroic tackling from England. Almost a shame either side won although I guess if we'd sneaked it we wouldn't be complaining.

I disagree. It definitely was a try the head on view showed that and also had George North have been in the sin bin like he should have there would be one less Welsh tackling Strettle. It doesn't matter really because I'd have bet my life on Flood missing the conversion.

I don't care about robshaw, what annoys me is those that are now calling wales world beaters, when you have a french team which is composed of a number of the best players in the world, and certainly the best current backrow in the world. If saint andre brings consistency to france, then they will almost certainly win the six nations, and if nothing happens in the southern hemisphere then most likely the next world cup.

Who, go find us those people and quote them directly. I, along with most Wales fans know we are nowhere near that. Ok, we are a far better side than last year but nobody in their right mind is claiming we are world beaters

Walsh called adavantage for the red 3 dropping the maul from England's last lineout and then 20 secs later we had the try/no try decision, that is not advantage in the modern game

There's that Toby Faletau-Jones guy who seems to think this Wales team is god's gift to rugby, but aside from that most Welsh fans have been pretty accurate in their assesment of this Wales team.

@Russdog

I'd imagine that messrs Kaino, McCaw and Reid would have something to say about that best back row in the world comment.

its mostly the media, but there are plenty of people I know who are talking about wales being 2015 winners

It's, as is often the case, the loud minority that ruin it for the rest of the fans :p
Doesn't help the amount of fair weather fans that crop up with rugby as well - people who don't give a crap 99% of the time, but when the teams going well they all become huge *insert country* fans.

I meant no offence to you, don't get me wrong, justone or two friends been getting a bit obnoxious of late

I've always been a massive Wales fan. My favourite player is Jones.

What a great game of rugby. Not pretty but massive spirit.

In fairness to England the 4 changes this week were correct and I thought tactics in defence were top notch. England attacked the ball hard, hit the gain line hard and were a completely different team to the other 2 games. I don't think Wales were ready for it. They were expecting to do that to them!

Defence was key in this game and Wales held out long enough to win the game. England should have taken advantage of the yellow card considering Wales leak the most points on average when down to 14

Wales scrum was very good, line out was still poor and that needs working on.

Don't want to comment on the refereeing as I believe both teams had their chances to win this game.

Unlucky England, but you've certainly gained my respect.

without wishing to bring the referee into play, because I'm sure there will be gripes from the Welsh fans, I thought there were three glaringly obvious issues which cost England.

1. Davies' knock on that wasn't. I've always thought if you go for an interception with one hand then it's very close to a deliberate knock on. If you simply bat the ball out of the air, then it's a certain penalty and arguably a yellow card. This is what happened, cost England 3 points.

2. North patting the ball into touch. England got the lineout so it was clearly seen to have come off North. And he made no attempt to catch the ball, merely to bat it into touch, which is illegal and is worth a yellow (eg. Tommy Bowe vs NZ a few years back). In that situation, it prevented the scoring of a try - penalty try. Cost England 5, maybe 7 points.

3. No further advantage being played after the TMO decision. I never heard 'advantage over' and if it was then that's too soon. Potentially cost England 5/ 7 points had we scored subsequently.

Not complaining, just saying.

I would say that at their peak the all blacks back row was better but I would pick harinodoqay in a world side and mccaw is definitely past his peak, and dusotoir has not yet reached his peak and is already as good as Pocock, so I would say overall france's is now better

Jones is overrated, my favourite player is Jones.

Honourable mention to Jones, Williams and Williams though ;)
