20.Really open shirt IMO any one of Jennings/Ryan/McLaughlin/Murphy
21.Boss/L.McGrath
22.Gopperth
23.Kirchener

Pack picks itself really although I'd like to see some Ryan (fit) getting more time strong competition for places across the board really happy with that. Backs get a little more sticky, obvious the 13 shirt is where it all hinges I've liked Fitzgerald there before so I've gone with him but there are plenty of other ways to go. Could bring Gopperth into and push Madigan and D'Arcy out or could use Ferg at 13 with Fitzgerald on the wing. Not even considered what sort of impact Macken could have on things, mostly because I don't think hes got it.

Ludik; Bowe, Cave, Olding, Trimble; Jackson, Pienaar; Black, Best, Herbst; van der Merwe, Tuohy; Henderson, Henry, Wilson

bench: Herring, Warwick, Fitzpatrick, Diack, Williams, Marshall, Marshall, Gilroy

Use either Henderson or Diack to cover vdM and Tuohy getting injured/tired. Probably Henderson, but Diack would do in a pinch.

Please don't take this as me being pedantic; it is not intended as such but just some info for those who might care (at all);

In SA any surname with the common 'Van -'/'Van der -'/'Van den -'/'Janse van -'/'De' / 'Du' the rule is the start of the surname is lower case if the name is included; Jan van Riebeeck, Francois van der Merwe or Lodewyk de Jager but upper case if the surname is standing alone; Van Riebeeck, Van der Merwe or De Jager.

Just a little bit of useless information to use or not.

Getting people's names right is never useless - thanks

Cardiff Blues:

Bit awkward this one, couple of positions are still rather thin from last seasons departures, especially in the back 3! Owen Williams' horrible injury is gonna leave a big gap in the centres too.

1. Gethin Jenkins
2. Matthew Rees
3. Craig Mitchell
4. Jarrad Hoeata (very decent replacement for Bradley Davies)
5. Macauley Cook / Filo Paulo (would prefer at least 1 Welshman at lock, as long as it's not Lou Reed...)
6. Josh Navidi / Josh Turnbull
7. Sam Warburton
8. Ieuan Jones (hope he regularly starts over Vosowai, be nice to have another young Welsh no.8 challenging Faletau alongside Baker)
9. Lloyd Williams / Tomos Williams (like the look of Tom from the Welsh u20's)
10. Rhys Patchell
11. Isaia Tuifua
12. Daf Hewitt
13. Cory Allen
14. Alex Cuthbert
15. Dan Fish

16. Kristian Dacey
17. Sam Hobbs
18. Scott Andrews
19. Chris Dicomidis
20. Ellis Jenkins
21. Lewis Jones
22. Simon Humberstone / Will Thomas (literally no-one of note as a back up fly half... Things will be dire if Patchell gets injured again)
23. Tom Williams / Richard Smith

Really thin in the backs atm, hoping a few signings come in before the start of the season. Fingers crossed that Gareth Anscombe is tempted enough to come over.

While Murchie doesn't have Hogg's attacking spark, I think that Murchie is stronger in defence and under high balls.

I think Hogg needs some play his way back into the Glasgow starting line up after being so poor at the end of last season.

Ospreys will probably look something like this-

Dan Evans
Hanno Dirksen
Andrew Bishop
Ashley Beck
Eli Walker
Dan Biggar
Rhys Webb

Ryan Bevington
Scott Baldwin
Adam Jones/Aaron Jarvis
Alun Wyn Jones
James King
Tyler Ardron
Justin Tipuric
Dan Baker

Sam Parry
Nicky Smith
Nicky Thomas
This South African lad we've signed
Joe Bearman, who I'm alarmed is still going
Tom Habbefield
Sam Davies
Jeff Hassler

Ice has left and Gareth Davies has done a U-Turn on his move to London Welsh and remains a Blue. Vosawai will almost have to start due to the dollars that we are paying him. You've also forgotten about Tavis Knoyle and a very handy looking winger from Bristol called George Watkins - who I believe to be another Copeland level signing. Check him out on youtube.

With that in mind, you are probably looking at: -

1. Gethin Jenkins
2. Matthew Rees
3. Craig Mitchell
4. Jarrad Hoeata
5. Filo Paulo
6. Josh Turnbull
7. Sam Warburton / Josh Navidi
8. Manoa Vosawai
9. Tavis Knoyle
10. Rhys Patchell
11. George Watkins
12. Cory Allen
13. Richard Smith/Gavin Evans
14. Alex Cuthbert
15. Gareth Anscombe (Please!)

23. Tom Williams/Richard Smith/Dan Fish

15. Liam Williams
14. Michael Tagicakibau
13. Regan King
12. Scott Williams
11. Jordan Williams
10. Rhys Priestland
9. Gareth Davies
1. Rob Evans
2. Ken Owens
3. Samson Lee (after ban)
4. George Earle
5. Jake Ball
6. Aaron Shingler/Rob McCusker
7. John Barclay
8. Rory Pitman/Chris Hala'ufia (feel like it's more likely Rory will start after his beginning to pre-season)

16. Emyr Phillips
17. Phil John
18. Rhodri Jones
19. Joe Snyman
20. Rob McCusker/Aaron Shingler/Chris Hala'ufia/Rory Pitman
21. Rhodri Williams/Aled Davies (Rhodri on last seasons form, but Aled apparently looked strong at Bath)
22. Steven Shingler
23. Harry Robinson

Ah I did completely forget about Knoyle! Heard Watkins was impressive for Bristol last season and looked very sharp so far in preseason. He qualifies for both Wales and England I think too?

Anyway, 1st XV could be very tidy looking now that Anscombe will come over in October and Adam Jones has signed :D
Only weak spot is in the centres with (at the moment) only Allen looking like a top class player. I do however quite like Richard Smith, so wouldn't mind seeing him starting ahead of Evans and Hewitt.
