That's a very nice and mellow way of saying "That's a very strange opinion that virtually no one will agree with because it's balls"... Toner's been a damn effective international and will probably go into history as one of Ireland's better. That said, if Henderson keeps playing like this, I think he might force the issue (despite bringing an ideal balance to the squad at 19); his work rate and physicality have been huge.
Also find it odd you say Ireland need to stop thinking of Madigan as a 10 then pick a 23 in which Madigan is the 10 cover... also, Jordi Murphy ahead of Heaslip?
Dull - I think Namibia, USA, Argentina and Fiji were the only countries to travel with only 2 scrum-halves to the last World Cup; I doubt, even with the new rules, that too many will be travelling with only 2 this time.
Not odd at all. Madigan's main position with Ireland should be 12. The beauty being if needs be, he could move into 10 in the last 10 mins if Johnny needed to come off, or, in a worse case scenario, if Johnny gets injured, he could go into 10. However, right now, Madigan is more or less a bench player used for 10. Rarely does he come on for 12. Primarily he should be a 12, with the option, if needs be, to move into 10. Right now, he's just on the bench as 10.
It's actually kind of a shame about Keatley, too. If Madigan hadn't switched around as much, Keatley may have had a shot at the replacement 10. But he doesn't get enough test match time.
And yes, I think it's time Murphy was given a shot. He's been really good lately. Heaslip is good too, but he has no spark. Just my personal opinion.
