Premiership Rugby 21/22 - Rd 11

Schonert going to have a busy day

Sale vs Newcastle called off - no word on if it's postponed or walkover, yet (COVID outbreak at Sale, so... hopefully postponed)

Cancelled according to prem.

"Under the Premiership Rugby regulations, the match between Newcastle Falcons and Sale Sharks will be cancelled. A Premiership Rugby panel will now be convened to determine the allocation of points and a further announcement will be made in due course."

I'm curious if anyone knows how feasible postponing is?

We've already had some European games postponed, the calendar is generally pretty packed already, player welfare means there is more emphasis on players having a proper break and the reduced salary cap has meant smaller squads overall than in previous years.

We've already seen sides struggle to fulfill regular fixtures. I think postponing is just going to cause more chaos.

Having said that I don't know what a fair way to resolve the games without playing is.

I kinda hinted at this above, but what would be a fair points result for a cancelled game? I think more than 4 points in total between the two teams is unfair as then someone is getting bonus points for nothing.

Yeah, I imagine there'll be no postponing at all - it was just the tweet I read that hinted at it being a possibility

Tbh I don't know where they're going to fit the euro reschedules in

Considering how ****** the country is wrt covid numbers atm then I'd say they should just be called 0-0 draws, as it's not like you've gotta be out licking door handles to catch it

In the interest of consistency, though, it should(/will) be 28-0 to the side that doesn't report their COVID list first

I agree. 2-2 is probably fairest all round. Obviously if a side can field a team they would be annoyed as they could have won potentially. However, they could have lost too so for me a guaranteed 2 points is fair.

Marcus Smith missing for Quins (guessing at COVID - either a positive test or isolation). Massive blow for us considering Allan is still out.

I quite like Edwards (our 3rd choice 10) but on the occasions he's been partnered with Care, he's been almost ignored and Care tries to take over too much.

I'm expecting to see us playing mostly off 9 with Esterhuizen just smashing it up. As good as Esterhuizen is, Saints are good enough to handle a one-dimensional game plan.

If you're injured/getting treatment you should be off the pitch
Medics fannying around where people are trying to play is a joke
