Paris Olympics 2024

Marathon swim is a beast of an event. Reckon 99% of people, myself included, would drown if they tried that.

Very strong women's 400m relay without Adeleke.

Thought McGrory had fallen off too much but Mawdsley is so good a the anchor.

Really great watch, much prefer that to the speed climbing
Yeah, the speed climbing is amazing, but once you've seen it a couple of times, then you've seen it all you need.

I like a straight race to the line, but it loses everything by not being head-to-head all going at once. Probably also needs to be a bit longer to be a bit more visually able to see the difference rather than need electronics who's done it, or at least change the course for every event.

Bouldering and Lead is definitely where it's at.

Is the issue with speed climbing its essentially a 100m and it would benefit from being 400m/800m?

But I also guess accessibility unlike Lead, Speed & Bouldering isn't that hard and can be done indoors in most sports centers.

100m is fine - if they're all going at the same time. (it's also 10ish seconds, rather than 6ish; so more like a 60m sprint). I personally prefer watching the longer sprints as they seem a bit more tactical, but that's pure personal preference. Even 100m has an element of maintaining speed... as it goes beyond about 70m, rather than purely reaching peak speed
But I imagine that 100m, run as 10 rounds of 2 lanes, just wouldn't be interesting.

All of this IMO, of course

Suggestion for a new Triathlon.
Boulder to 10m, climb onto the top, which is a diving platform, dive off that, then freestyle 50m

I know most sports have been boosted by gambling but track cycling just full on admits that betting is its sole purpose.

Kieren it's not even a joke was developed in 1948 in Japan for gambling

Boardman and the other commentator speak about it all the time.
That description of the Keirin in Japan sounds like a human version of greyhound racing

On paper GB are the fastest this year in the 4x100 relay (womens)
