New Zealand v Ireland - Test 3 - 16 July 2022

I enjoyed that game.
That's finished though hasn't it?
according to google "The much-anticipated Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, which is based on George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood book about House Targaryen, is set to premiere in August 2022"

In fairness to the man he seemed wrecked. Doubt Leinster will see him much next year though as in less than before just European games maybe which is no bad thing either.

On a side note isn't it madness that the likely top 4 teams in world at end of day will be on same side of draw in RWC
Was a jab and Gatland.

I'm firmly putting Sexdog as the second best 10 of the pro era after DC after that though.

Oh I know but did you see the man he is goosed. Understandably not due to age but hard tour.

And POM too. Had nightmare after how his Lions experience ended down there. Now he showed what he is. A worldclass player for the big days.

Do we reckon Schmidt would help with this short of a time frame?

His style and immense attention to detail might just heap the pressure on the players tbh and I don't think he'd have enough time to work with them to get what he wants. Schmidt had a years to coach the backbone of Ireland during his time in Leinster
Schmidt coached NZ for the 1st game... They pressured Ireland more with their defense and attacking than any other point besides that frantic 20mins in the 2nd half today. This ABs team LITERALLY has no structure, direction, or belief. I don't believe Foster knows who he is even going to play in the next game at the following positions: 10 to 15. Let alone 6, 7, and 8. No clue. Seriously. When was the last time we had the same centre pairing start more than 3 games in a row together? Oh wait, the answer is 2015. I also think Sam Cane as captain has run it's course. I think Ardie Savea is 100% made for the captaincy. The guy is EVERYWHERE, and how many times do you find yourself saying: "Man... that Sam Cane is a beast". He literally oozes that "never give up" attitude and work rate. I just don't think Cane is that inspiring as a captain. We've had Kieran Read, McCaw... Sam Cane is just nowhere near those levels of a man for this All Blacks team. We have the talent, we have literally the most ridiculous talent, and yet it is inefficiently used, having the same problems and mistakes vs Ireland that we had 5 years ago is unacceptable.

Great achievement by Ireland. ABs did enough in the second half to hold onto 4th in the rankings.

Wales and Scotland should be licking their lips for the EOYT against NZ. I'd give both a minimum 40% of victory at home if Foster is still in charge.

Ngl I'd hate it if Wales or Scotland beat them. I feel like our recent run against them elevates us above.

Also, Johnny has now beaten NZ 6 times in 6 years... Lucky number 7 in 2023?!

Absolutely brilliant. Hope this continues so Fozzie apologists can admit they're wrong or keep eating humble pie.

Post World Cup???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Why would we want to be put out in the QFs... We're going to have a massive punch on with Australia just to hope to retain the Bledisloe.
NZRU is a joke. They're determined to keep Fozzie. If they fire him before the World Cup they'd be admitting the hugely obvious gaffe of hiring him in the first place.

I feel for Sam Cane. He's a solid player, great in the tight and doing a lot of the hard, unseen work that never makes it on to the highlight reels.

He has had the highly unenviable task of following in the shirt of one of the greatest and most iconic players the game has ever seen AND being groomed by the set-up and media to be that man's successor. What unreasonable pressure.

He has had to preside as captain over one of the most tumultuous periods in the AB's history, under a coach that doesn't seem to understand that the term "loose forwards" doesn't mean sticking a hand in a bag of players' names and placing them in positions like Rugby Countdown ("I'll take another blindside please Carol"). Let's leave aside the disaster that has been the midfield entirely.

The dude cannot work miracles with the conveyor belt of players and no discernible game plan whatsoever. He's been scapegoated majorly and I think it's really unfair. People lambast Eddie for being bizarre but it must be impossible to do the job under Foster.

Cane is definitely a very decent player, but I think he probably sticks out as not being a truly top class 7 in an era where the position is so important and nearly every top flight team has a top top player in the position.

Correct. Sam is a good player, but Ardie is just better and Lachlan Boshier was a turnover master. We can't be picking people "just coz" anymore. These teams are better than us.

Well done to Ireland, far more accurate and ruthless. Our high error rate is a concern, if there was a positive at least we made some small tweaks to our game plan from the week before which still wasn't enough unfortunately. The Bledisloe cup will be there for the taking this year, if we lose that series then god help us for RWC.
