New Zealand Super 14 Squads

Good pickup of Danny Lee from the draft as he is an experienced old head...ideal replacement of Devine. Jay Williams must be gutted to have lost out to Evans (no idea who the **** this is) but I assume he must be one of the core engines in the Magpies run this year.

Dominated by Aucks as was expected but I'm at a loss as to why Nick White was chosen over Chris Heard.

You can thank the ELV's for Jay Williams and Isaac Ross moving. Bryn Evans and Michael Paterson are both bigger ball carrying type forwards. But Canterbury can't be too unhappy that Ross got picked up elsewhere.

Harry, do you think Kahui will start at 12?

I would have thought they'd probably play Bruce at 12 with Kahui at 13?

I guess I consider the Chiefs midfield a bit thin because of all the injury problems those players have had recently.

Kahui, Lavea, Anesi, Sivivatu and Mils have all had reasonably serious injuries last year. But then again it is rugby and the Canes will be keeping their finger crossed that Conrad and Ellison stay healthy.

I think that the Canes backline will be pretty sweet next year, especially if the ELV's are introduced.

After watching the ARC it seems that out and out speed is less important compared to skilled playmakers. So Nonu and Paku will suit that style well. The Wellington backline looked quite good this year with Ellison at 12. Nonu at 14 and Paku at 11. Gear's a strong bench player and Guildford will be learning the ropes more than anything this year.

Canes:

1. J.Schwalger
2. A.Hore
3. N.Tialata
4. B.Upton
5. J.Eaton
6. J.Collins
7. C.Masoe
8. R.So'oialo
9. P.Weepu
10. J.Gopperth
11. S.Paku
12. T.Ellison
13. C.Smith

15. C.Jane

16. T.Fairbrother
17. H.Elliot

19. T.Waldrom

Hmm, I'm not sure actually, we have no specialist 12, Lavea was pretty good last year in 12 so maybe him aswell... Should be intresting.

Kahui should play at 13, too good and too young to start shifting him round from a position he's already comfortable in. My Chiefs back line would be:

Leonard
Donald
Sivivatu
Lavea
Kahui
Masaga
Muliaina

f*** that's an awesome back line, then you still have Waqaseduadua, Bruce, Anesi left out presumably on the bench.

Anesi at 14 over Masaga. I still think Masaga's defense could use a bit of work. What a great race to see between them thoguh!

I'd probley put Atiga in there at fullback instead of Nacewa.

Atiga has been exposed too many times at the back. I don't think we'll see him play fullback for a long long time. Unless there's major injuries.
Ripper has picked pretty much the team I'd pick T_T
But with Nucifora, who knows :(

The wider training groups for the five New Zealand teams in the 2008 Rebel Sport Super 14 have been announced.

Are there any 14-year-olds on the board today who can translate this for me?

Nacewa's gone son.

I too, would like a translation.... where's darkman?

I'm 16, but I will give it a go.
Actually I will totally re-word it.

I would pick Atiga because he is quicker and now that Evans has gone, Nacewa will probably move to First-five. *(although he has gone overseas to Leinster).

Don't you reckon they should allow over-seas players to become elligible for the All Blacks?
*My comment

lol yeah i've heard of and seen hamish gard play.... he's about par with julian huxley when it comes to kicking from a tee
