Oh lord -

Americans produce more comedy in a year than the brits have done in sixty years of broadcasting. Pretending that the odd stand-out show makes the brits better is just sad.

You can't get past audience ratings, and audiences want American stuff because it's ... better! Better gags, better drama.

What's sadder is that the people who make those stand-out shows in Britain don't get paid properly, because they're relying on a state broadcaster to commission the stuff. The Fawlty Towers crowd were paid peanuts, and didn't get video and re-broadcast rights. BBC raking it in on top of the licence fee. ******.

Which brings us back to the All Blacks. They're simply not funny.

Which brings us back to the All Blacks ... I give up!

I was always wondering how 4 million country could beat a great empire of rugby like France... I think the all blacks have no future .. simply because this generation is crap

No man Keep walkin'

What about the NZ rugby I can't agree Sebastian Chabal in that they have no future

Because they have, and I say this aloud especially today, when Jr All Blacks have won Junior World Championship again

And Jr All Blacks already own some world class players and already stars like Aaron Cruden, Tom Taylor, Nafi Tuitavake and others

Makes me laugh when the Irish can call American comedy superior to anything form the UK. Especially when the only decent programme they ever made was Father Ted - Then that was even commissioned and funded by Channel 44![/b]
Why would we pay to make it when you lot will do it for us?

Good answer. So how much did RTE (or whichever channel that broadcast it in Ireland) have to pay Channel 4 to licence it? I'll bet more then the production costs were.

Irish TV fail.

Your right of course. But you fail to mention the other dross that is made and never sees the light of day. Production costs lost, major fail to ...... well the whole of Britain. No idea what the "fail" thing means but I'll get down and hip with the rest of you.

I dont really understand though, do you expect Irish TV to compare to British TV. Is that a success for you? Or is it the usual, lets change the arguenment so we can salvage a win? UK TV has some good stuff, and some **** stuff, same as everywhere else. Just America is on a much bigger scale so they have much greater chance of a win ........... yo yo yo. peace out.

Regardless anyway, all sitcoms have been rubbish since Blackadder. And panel shows appear to be the flavour of the month when it comes to comedy these days.
